  • I'm generally enjoying Persona 3 Reload, but unlike 'later' games (P4 and P5), it doesn't always allow you to have the party you want, as sometimes the team splits up without your input (mostly Junpei leaving, really), which gets quite annoying.

In P4G and P5/R, there was not a single time where the party split up like this; you can choose your party freely, which means if you want to main Yu/Yosuke/Kanji/Teddie for the entire second half of the game, or Joker/Mona/Skull/Fox for most of P5/R, or any other combo, you can.
    Not so in P3/R.

For example - in the Theurgy tutorial, you're forced to use Minato/Akihiko/Yukari/Mitsuru, and later in the 7 July boss fight, you're forced to include Yukari, even if you haven't been levelling her up at all. Sure, it's for narrative reasons, but gameplay-wise...it's a definite downgrade from P4G and P5R.

Hell, even when Crow joins for the Casino Palace in P5/R, you're not forced to include him in the active party (though most would anyway because he's only available for that one Palace); similarly, you don't have to use Yusuke, Makoto or Haru for their respective Palaces either. Muuuch better, even if it doesn't make much story sense.
I know it's been a few years since its release, but now I'm wondering if DOOM Eternal will get a new season, with new/rereleased cosmetic unlocks, soon...or if id has ceased Eternal support completely.
I frickin' hate Windows, compared to macOS - I've never had the latter blue-screen on me, for one thing, and it doesn't close all my open windows either.

Windows has its issues, but I find it easy to fix. Linux can be weird at times and I find Macos to be a joke.
One *good* thing I can say about Pokemon Scarlet/Violet - I am glad they finally committed to updating the Pokemon models, after using the exact same ones for almost a decade.

Even if it's mainly just texturing upgrades instead of major overhauls.
Ubisoft's infamous claim - yeah, I already don't see the value in MS's Game Pass, as I'd rather just have the game in my Steam library (or downloaded on my Switch) ready at any time, with just a one-time cost. Why would I be interested in other streaming services?

I'd love to see Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages/Seasons get a decomp, or a HD treatment a la Link's Awakening (even if it gets zapped by Big N).
Those games deserve some attention and love (and touch-ups, frankly).

Leaving the vastly different and incredibly mediocre BotW and TotK aside, I'd love to see the traditional games return for sure, even if it's a remake of an older game. Minish Cap, Oracle duo, A Link to the Past, one of those four.

However, my biggest issue with the Link's Awakening DX HD version is the GUI, honestly - it doesn't emulate Nintendo's button layout, instead opting for Microsoft's, and there doesn't seem to be any way to change/fix it.
In an actual Nintendo game, X would be on top, and B the bottom; not here,
    RichardTheKing
    RichardTheKing
So that's frustrating, the mismatch between what is visible and what buttons my items are actually bound to. I don't get why the creator decided to disregard the Nintendo layout in a Nintendo game, but it is what it is.
I wish I could fix it; it's quite distracting.
The stairs leading to the second floor of my house had its walls repainted today, and the paint fumes are decently strong...luckily they don't reach the bedrooms much, but hopefully they dissipate soon.

Open all windows and doors you can, the best way of get rid of the fumes is a great ventilation
Apparently people are quite divided over the new English "Like a Dragon" dub, at least the snips released before the new game's out.
I'm not a big LaD/Yakuza fan, but personally it sounds pretty alright; definitely more understandable than the JPN-only state every previous game had.
    RichardTheKing
    RichardTheKing
I've tried Yakuza games before (0 and 4, from memory), yet the incomprehensible 'gibberish' coming from everyone's mouths took me right out of the experience, as I could not connect with them. Sure, it makes sense logically, but...
    RichardTheKing
    RichardTheKing
...suspension of disbelief is a powerful thing so everyone "talking" English also makes sense, to allow me in. Like how in MGS3 everyone's actually speaking Russian but the dub's in English so the player isn't left out.
    RichardTheKing
    RichardTheKing
This new English dub WILL draw more people in, people who don't like not understanding vocals, so why the divide? It's not like they're removing the JPN option and making it pure ENG, so if you're accustomed to the mismatch of dub/subs there's no loss - it doesn't matter for you, but it certainly does for others like me.
I have zero sympathy for smokers - not only are they committing protracted suicide, and in a very painful way, but their noxious smoke also affects me, a bystander with a family history of asthma. Stop poisoning me, and I might give a damn about you, but until you do you can screw right off.
    RichardTheKing
    RichardTheKing
If you "must" smoke, go do it in a special smoking area well away from us non-smokers.
Don't fucking smoke on the sidewalk, jackasses, where us non-smokers are guaranteed to breathe in your toxic refuse. Or at bus stops, completely ignoring the "Do Not Smoke" signs.
They don't give us sympathy, so I don't give them sympathy in turn.
Laptops > desktops, IMO. Come prebuilt instead of needing assembly (don't know how to do that), portable, smaller form factor (no box near my feet or on my desk), and comes with own screen instead of needing a separate monitor (so I can watch/search stuff whilst playing on Switch).

I don't even use Ethernet (don't think I've got a wall-port for that here); I use Wi-Fi, which is more than fast enough for me, considering I don't do multiplayer at all - so that's one less cable.
Otherwise, I fully agree with all 9 of your replies, Sono.

Personally I see zero upside to a laptop

More expensive for same parts, performs worse

Own laptop and desktop and literally use my laptop like 2x a year

Sorry for the spam, blame the character limit

I said Ethernet because WiFi was bugged at my previous workplace, so I had to plug in the PC physically in order to access the internal network. Forgot that it might work elsewhere just fine :rofl2:

Also, I apparently missed the "I don't care" part, yet I wrote this wall of text. I'm sorry >.<

Am I weird for thinking of breasts when I read "Perky Little Things"? Do I need help, for having a filthy mind?
Ah, Ryujinx changelog...why'd you add those words?

Nah, this is normal. I think about them in almost everything I read (and even if I don't read): whether it's small or big things.😅
I am afraid that this will be of no consolation to you.🤣

Why is Fire Emblem Engage giving me "could not start software", when it was working perfectly fine last night? Tried deleting and reinstalling it; tried deleting my cheat toggle.txt - neither worked.
I'm playing Twilight Princess HD again, after finishing TotK and it being a few years since I last played TPHD, and...oh Hylia, THIS is why I love Legend of Zelda.

It's a shame this was the last true traditional Zelda - a GameCube game.
    RichardTheKing
    RichardTheKing
Twilight Princess has amazing dungeons, and despite models now looking quite angular (which can be forgiven, considering it's a GC game at its core) it still looks wonderful - all the detail given to the environments and characters. It's so refreshing to go back to LoZ's highs after how abysmal BotW and TotK are.
    RichardTheKing

Lakebed Temple is everything the so-called "Water Temple" in TotK, and the water-elephant Divine Beast in BotW, aren't - solidly designed, gorgeous, a little confusing but not overly so, with a unique (but gross) miniboss and a dungeon item. It's also got actual history, being an old Zora temple that monsters took over.
    RichardTheKing
    RichardTheKing
Midna's great, too - she's well-written, for a Zelda companion, and has an actual arc that's followed as the game progresses instead of just being optional flashbacks.
BotW/TotK Zelda has nothing on Midna here; I cared nothing for that Zelda, while I want to help Midna.
WELL - I ordered an Australiana pizza for dinner (BBQ sauce base, ham, bacon, egg), and ate half of it, as usual, leaving the box with the other half on the kitchen bench.
Whilst I was upstairs eating, my old dog managed to knock down my box and take the other four slices outside. He licked away all the toppings, leaving the bare bread.
    RichardTheKing
    RichardTheKing
Dagnabbit dog. I really hope you don't get sick tonight from all that - because it'd be me who'd have to clean it up...
And I guess I'm down half a pizza. Oh well; I've got enough for brekkie and lunch anyway, tomorrow.
    RichardTheKing
    RichardTheKing
And it's not like my dog's left to starve, either - he's always got dry food out throughout the day, and he gets damn good meat for dinner too. Opportunistic greedyguts.
I'm using Switch Atmosphere, and I installed the N64 Switch Online app via NSPs and Tinfoil yesterday; however, whenever I try to launch a game, it hangs before crashing. How can I fix that?

Installing sigpatches and or SYS-Patch do it manually
    Just finished TotK's Fire Temple.
It's better than the straightforward and bland Water Temple, but I'm noticing a pattern - all Temples seem to involve activating a number of devices using the Sage-to-be's ability. Quite unimaginative, considering what LoZ dungeons USED to be.
    RichardTheKing
    RichardTheKing
Back with the GOOD formula, each dungeon was unique, having not just its own theming, but also its own puzzles and solutions - you could never predict what was coming next, and even on replays it was a nice change. You weren't doing the same thing over and over.
    RichardTheKing
    RichardTheKing
Here in TotK? That's exactly the case - doing the same thing over and over, with not even a miniboss or map or compass or dungeon item to be found. YAWN.
...Oh, how I wish TP/TWW HD was on the Switch...or MM, for that matter.
