In the jpn game update they changed 3 files in bdat.cpk and also 3 in script.cpk with similar namings, dunno if they're connected somehow, but anyway the eur script.cpk dun have different language folders so i guess script.cpk isn't lipsync timings...
The eur game update only changed bdat.cpk tho, and unless is pending an update the jpn bdat.cpk has ~16 more files in it... the eur bdat only has one file that jpn dun have, named "we_name_ms.bdat" lol

Well, here's first release of my patcher.

It's somewhat hacky(I rewrote it again, the first one just wouldn't work), but I'm going to fix that in the next few days. Also, it currently only patches voices and gear, I'll add fonts later.

Bug reports are welcome:)

Also, @ggl0l , what's the strange stuff at the end of your gear bat? Is it needed?

I pinpointed the location of president's speech but still it seems the end of the part is still in English.. I can't seem to figure this one out. They're located at "../content/stream/ev_voice/sev/us/m01/" files are "xs01010100_wav0003.adx" ~ "xs01010100_wav0006.adx". When I listen to them I can totally hear that they're in Japanese like I replaced the files.. I wonder if the game is grabbing a sound file for the end of the part somewhere else? Otherwise this doesn't make any sense.

100% Noob here. I googled "Xenoblade X undub" and this came up. I would really like to undub my game but I have no idea where to even start. Any chances we might get a complete tutorial for idiots like myself? Thanks.

Ye, is a bit weird, maybe the rest of the audio is embedded in a video or so? Did you overwrite the .acb files in snd.cpk too?

Anyway, i dun think just from copying audio files and dealing with the gender issue will be enough to have 100% english voice cause it looks as tho some quests/missions are diferent enough to have seperate dialogs. The jpn game has conversations that the english version dun have and vice-versa, so for those there's no jpn recordings.

Yeah, no idea what's the issue here. Yes, I double checked and did the work again for snd.cpk and it's still the same.

EDIT1. I do remember finding some other *.acb files out from other *.cpk files if I remember correctly, guess I'll try to fiddle with them for a while.

Well, still no success. I'll let it be because it's highly possible there's something that's not even present in Japanese version of the game. I still need to figure out how to get pygecko to run with loadiine because I always get an "160-2200" error in the end :/ I want to fiddle with boobies. Oh well, it seems I need Super Smash Bros. for it because I totally missed that line.

i think may be loadiine server can help us with president speech and other similar...
i'm didn't ever used it, but afaik it logs every file that game reads?

I played just a tad with pygecko today to try change Elma's name, but that thing is so slow searching, plus I'm not familiar with gecko yet and then it froze so I gave up... I did check one of the addresses @liomajor posted but it was just some repeating numbers there so I guess the adresses are dynamic :/
I need to see how Elma's name is written in japanese and search for that.

Bust would be fun to play with for the other characters as well, but how to find such a thing?, it probly wouldn't keep the size for npcs, but I wonder if we can make our own character's bust bigger than the max jpn size lol

Cool, tks, next time I'll have to see how to dump memory, will be much better indeed!

Btw, the avatars we save while making an avatar will stay in the save file of the game right? If yes it can be a means to share nameless avatars huh? And if so i wonder if the eur game reads a properly a saved jpn avatar with a bigger/smaller bust size.

Ah btw, i've looked a little bit more into the dump, seems that its always similar > names are close to each other, this way you should find them very fast even if they are japanese.

EDIT:

Jackpot:

1C38B90C was my magic hex offset ;) (I think this offset might be static, was the same for two complete reboots.)

I had simply to leave menu and enter again, name was changed.

The whole character setup is next to it, followed from next char in your group.

I guess all character info is stored in one place like in splatoon(size, equipped gear, stats,...), so if we can change the name, we can also change those. That would be pretty good, because we don't have to search anymore if that's true :P
