IDK if someone else has suggested this, but is there a way to implement .pbp support? That's how I archive my PSX rips since they have smaller file sizes and are supported by many cores on RA, so it would be nice if I could play these through WiiSX.
Yes, a known desired feature :yayps3:

Though i won't be the one to add it, any contributions to the open code, as always, are welcome!

BTW @Tetsuo Shima, Wiiflow compatibility should also be ready to go (hopefully), thanks to the work from our talented Wiimpathy which provided the patches. :grog:

One question Tekken 3 was already working in the last wiisx fork but with choppy framerates, does it got any better in this new version RX?
Don't expect it to run full speed on a Wii, not with the software video renderer. Wii U users in those cases always have the upper hand thanks to the extra horsepower, which will soon be enjoyable with the 2.5 channel.

That's great to hear! :grog:
I'll test it on Wiiflow and report

Hi @niuus glad to see your thread! Great advancement made here. Time to update my WiiSXR on my WiiU!

Edit: Turning off Dithering indeed boosts fps. Now Tekken 3 reaches 50 fps during battles (vs 45 fps when dithering is on) :

Here : fps = 54

Wow the results of what you showed results to be the same as of the old wiisx, so maybe the RX just increased compatibility but not performance at all. Are you playing Tekken 3 on the new RX? if thats the new one its the same as the old

Yep, i know :yaywii:. That's the exact reason i disabled it by default, instead of the previous behavior from the originals. Funny enough that was the first thing i changed way back in 2017, the spark that started me wanting to have some QoL fixes. :D

So... do you ever, ever read the changelogs, or do you just assume magic nitro boosting voodoo is happening when increasing version number?

Emulation is much more than just increasing speed and playing all the consoles that exist on one 14 years old underpowered hardware.

Yes I'm sure it's the new WiiSXRX. In old WiiSXR dithering was always on.. turning it off has a result of about +5 fps gain.

EDIT: how do i sync a wii u pro controller to an old wii?

You can also notice the improvement on SotN, for example.

@niuus do you have plains to implement covers for Wiisx RX?
No cosmetic changes, though i'll add it to the wanted list in case someone is interested to implement it. Cover and disc would be nice.

Depends on the homebrew. All RX line supports it, and of course others do it too. You sync them like any new Wiimote, but only on the Wii Menu.

I'm interested in writing the fix mentioned a couple of pages ago (sorry no quote, just made my account), hopefully looking at a similar fix for the Gamecube controller will be enough for my limited coding knowledge because in my opinion classic controller pro is objectively best controller for emulating ps1 on wii >:////
I did some preliminary testing with my classic controller pro with a ps1 controller testing utility called padtest. Loading it up in wiisxrx 2.4 gives me this range for both analog sticks:

full up: y=-116
full left: x=-112 (-116 if I reeeally push the left one)
full right: x=102
full down: y=102 (106 if I really push the left one)

Looking at the similar fix for the gamecube controller, it pretty much just multiplied the stick value by 4/3 and capped it if it went over -128/+127. The gamecube controller's range before the fix was a little more limited than the classic controller pro range now (close to 100 all around on wiisxrx 2.3 where the fix wasn't implemented yet). My guess based on my results would be to multiply by 14/11 instead.

I would have made a pull request already but I wanna be sure its the same for regular classic controller users before I make my pull request, so I'm asking anyone with a regular classic controller (not pro) to please do the following:

1. search "ps1 padtest" and download it from psx-place (i would link it here but I just made my account just for this so I'm restricted)
2. load the padtest.bin/.cue into wiisxrx and push your sticks around ;)
3. make sure you get the values of all the way up/left/right/down
4. post them here
5. thanks
