Corrected the link, it seems to already work.

These kits are pretty good overall and worth a try. At least I can assure you that Parasite Eve, Heart of Darkness and Chrono Cross (with ccfix) are finalizable on Wii without errors.

I take this opportunity to say something that does not appear in the compatibility lists and is that the PAL version of Silent Hill does not suffer from the speed problems of the American version. Although the NTSC version is corrected using Interpreter I still don't like how it works at all and I prefer to use dynarec and the European version especially with limit fps and frame skip both off.

Plenty of America version games have this compatibility issue compared to PAL, as Dynarec basis.

For instance Raystorm gets freezed at “Loading”, while PAL version does not.

    The Lost World, the same.
    Wipeout XL, PAL Version works!

Wipeout 3, I cannot make it to run.

That's completely untrue. Both NTSC-U versions work.

Thanks for the useful info on the kits. With some patience, i successfully merged and tested Heart of Darkness again, this time it works without issues.

Hence why i am correcting your statement, so other users who read that post do not repeat the same mistake, since the game does work on NTSC-U. Incorrect feedback needs to be fixed if it can be, no big deal.

You can't contradict what i already tested and confirmed. Your possibly flawed method for loading games with any tools you use to copy or acquire them is a testament that you are not doing things 100% correctly, hence why some titles fail for you. That's not a trusty compatibility report. Either way you are free to create your own personal compatibility list on something like Google Sheets, which will surely clash with the already available one for WiiSXR, which itself has some flaws too.

Too absolutist from you I would say, and I was not trying to be in that way.

In fact, I was not trying to contradict you. But you should be more respectful with the feedback of others, this can be discussed in a separated PM ping pong.

Wiisxrx is a great fork by the way! A truly increased compatibility must say

But any feedback from anyone helps . fortunately I have 20-30 people ( developers mainly) daily doing tests of your Wiisxrx at a deep level of analisys. Thats the way!

But what I’m reporting, is something that has been experienced from the old wiisx, passing through wiisxr and yours.

And if someone is experiencing the same behaviour, I would not mind to share a simple solution that worked!

    We’re a worldwide team !

    Peace!

No. Already told you, wrong facts are not good feedback for anyone. You say that those NTSC-U games do not work, i clarified that is not the case, and this is something i already personally verified 100%. This way, whoever reads your isolated post in the future may know that the PAL versions are not the only option. That's it, no deeper meaning, no need to discuss it further, nothing personal. Don't read too much into it.

I don't get why would you devote 20-30 people to make tests for an emulator, specially since you claim they are developers doing "deep level of analisys", it's kinda nonsensical. Shouldn't they be coding? Do they get paid for that time? There is nothing to be gained from such tests, it is not needed at this point, it won't improve anything, nor they won't get anything productive out of it, since the builds with compatibility differences may come out anytime and change everything again. You can't be serious about feedback when you copy-pasted the same borked picture of X2 not working in 3 straight pages of this thread, which i addressed on the first one.

That being said, i rest my case.

There are some rare cases where some ISOs from some "sources" don't work, especially those bizarre .ecm, .img or .mdf format.
If some game doesn't work just test again from some other source, preferably .cue/bin or .iso format.

Great to see progress made on PCSX for Wii/U :) thank you!
WiiU Gamepad support is very welcome, as much as I would like to see PCSX on WiiU natively it doesn't look like its going to happen any time soon so this is easily the next best thing :P so again thank you!

I do have a feature request if it hasn't been asked already.. would it be possible to add CHD support? it has been added to the libretro port PCSXrearmed by aliaspider (https://github.com/libretro/pcsx_rearmed/pull/280) but I dont know how difficult it would be to port over to the older PCSX?

I checked my personal compatibility list, it does in fact have a problem hanging at the SCEA screen. The demo is compatible though, if you have a craving for some CTR.

So, i've been toying around with a more 'recent' ported code, so far i've seen some games working that had some problems before:
    - Mega Man X4's jungle level boss can be beaten now.
    - Mega Man X5 is playable in other stages besides the intro level.
    - Mega Man X6 is playable in other stages besides the intro level.

What niuus said here about all the megaman x, doesnt seem to be true, I test them and none work, becareful when reading feedback, its not true that the megaman series work with the new wiisx RX.

The main problem here seems to be your reading comprehension regarding my posts. Already told you countless other times to READ the changelogs, not to use your imagination based on what i want or like to report about experimenting with the code for f-u-t-u-r-e versions. I very much clearly said in that post "i've been toying around with a more 'recent' ported code". No, @armaldodo, never have i ever said that said code IS MAGICALLY USABLE SINCE THAT VERY INSTANT for whatever version is available when i posted.

You're clearly making me rethink my position about news updates to the thread, as annoying as it may be that you are going to state false reports about games suddenly changing status just for you, errors on installation that are clearly because of your own inexperience, imaginary assumptions about compatibility changes based on things that i haven't published in the code, or your unsolicited tech support messages to my inbox. I may have to go dark and just not share anything about WiiSX RX until whenever a next version happens, if it happens at all. :glare:

That's why it is so important to be thorough and precise with the files used, and specially to rip the owned discs. It is never an acceptable answer from users to report "but mah pc emulator runz mah isoz". Tainted reports with dubious files and comparisons to PC and Android emulators are not trustworthy, besides the fact that open piracy is being frowned upon on these forums.

As a general rule of thumb, always go through options and set the settings with your preferred defaults before even playing a game, and save them. This way you can be sure that you do not repeat the same common mistakes most users of WiiSX have had since ever: use your PS1 BIOS (except specific cases), set your memory card saving to the correct source that you are using (and if you copy over from SD to USB, set it again for that media), set your controllers order (i tend to have many connected but use one or the other as the 1st player for tests), etc.

Hi @ploggy, cool to see you around here! As i have mentioned before, i already added it to the wishlist, though i have other areas prioritized at the moment. I will, however, later point out here which changes could be useful to be ported in case anyone else wants to help with code (ECM file support, for example), so i may focus on other areas that peaked my interest. RL has been kinda though lately so that adds to the difficulty, so i can't promise absolutely anything for new features right now. I still want to go back and finish FCEURX.

Check the readme for details, also included in the zip.

Sorry I kinda dropped in at the end of the thread. As always RL always should take priority, we've waited this long right? :P
good luck with the progress and I'll keep an eye on this thread for sure :)

This project has piqued my interest since it was recently added in an update to @Tetsuo Shima amazing big WiiFlow Plugins Pack. Much like N64 emulation, I have not really spent any time with PSX emulation in the Wii since it has been very hit-or-miss in years past with some compatibility issues.

I've done some limited digging in this thread. I can't seem to find a compatibility list for the WiiSX RX fork specifically. Also, I see a lot of instances where game files have to be patched to get them to work properly (I believe the Tomb Raider games is an example of this?) Has anyone created a compatibility list yet?

It would be great to have a list that not only shows which games work well using this fork but also if any editing of rom/iso/etc files are needed.

I remember being underwhelmed by Wiisx years ago, and I usually make eboots for the PSTV to spare the ware on my collection, but this RX fork piqued my curiosity. I ripped my King's Field CD and it's running at a more consistent framerate than on hardware, which always catches me off guard (in a good way, that game is a chugfest).

Big fan of your RX fork @niuus , keep up the good work. I know you said down-thread that you were doing some tests on 240p; I'd be ecstatic if you ever get it to work out.

I have my own list, which i have mentioned previously. Personally tested 508 games for 3 the regions (NTSC-U, NTSC-J, and PAL), of which AFAIK there are 1300 for North America alone, all of this while making changes to increase compatibility, all on my own limited free time. I will clean it, move it to a spreadsheet, convert it to PDF and release it when it is ready, or when i get completely bored of making it, whatever happens first. If i stop having fun doing this, then i will stop altogether and leave the code as-is.

Meanwhile, of course, anyone proactive enough is free to make an unofficial compatibility list, though i can't vouch for the accuracy of it, as some users that posted in the past have already demonstrated there isn't interest to make a serious attempt for reliable/trusted results.

Ehmm, what? Lot of instances? We have only talked about Tomb Raider 1-2, for which user @depaul discovered some patches that were meant for use on the PS3, that allow the game to work on the embedded console emulator without hanging. 2 titles, that's it.

Great to know you enjoy the updates. Certainly 240p is one of those things that i love, i have always said it. My retrogaming setup is fitted with a PVM that was gifted to me a long time ago, and using it to its full glory is something i enjoy very much. CRT use among other things is one the reasons that started my need to modify the emulators. :yaywii:

To the second point - Welp - Don't know how I thought that it was more widespread than that. Thanks for responding. It's incredible that basically 15 years later, we are still making progress with Wii homebrew and emulation. Appreciate what you do. Looking forward to seeing that spreadsheet.

Yes really we appreciate you taking this dead emulator and making such an amazing progress. PS1 console was a legend that can never die. Even younger generations like to play old games and discover old hits (FF7, Tekken, GT...)

I hope we can help somehow like testing games and contribute to the compatibility list (if the admin allows some testers to edit), or if possible some skilled persons here can help in coding. Thank you again @niuus !
