I don't know why, but WiiFlow r40 is sooo laggy. Anyone have the same problem?

[Edit] To be more specific, it takes about 1-2 seconds to switch to another game on the main screen.
is it the first time running?

if so, i believe its building the cache folder.

Mhm...that sounds honestly like FanArts are enabled in this version? You could test this by placing a 640x480 big Picture, named with an ID6 in the Root of the SD (like SMNP01.png)...if it shows when you select the game, you have the proof that FanArts are enabled, which are causing this lag...

So, as long as NTFS is not used, there is no problem at all. Right ?

No.

My test with R40:

- Install or delete (in fat mode) still dosen't work.
- Covers are really really laggy (also in fat mode) (but no problems with R39, only making the cache is slow)
- Covers are a little faster when loading from USB but not still like R39
- My WBFS drive dosen't work with any of the new wiiflow releases, but work with (GX, CFG, NEO, Wiiflow R25, uLoader, Wanins 1.5)
- R40 works with Hermes v5 (222[38], 223[37], 224[58]) in fat mode (havent tested NTFS mode)
- Guitar Hero 5 dosen't work with R40 the game just reboots (neither on v4 or v5) (yes i have changed to IOS223) (works with R39)
- If i use an WBFS drive and then closed the Wiiflow and want to use an FAT drive again, i need to change Partition=FAT1 in the Wiiflow.ini file before it works. the "searching" of use able partition dosent work well. (the same in R39)
- NTFS mode can regenise my HDD but when launch a game i get code dump.

@ r-win

- it would be nice to have an options to format drives from wiiflow. (WBFS, FAT32 and NTFS),
- and maybe the possibility to play .wad games just like uLoader

But thanks for all your hard work on wiiflow.

I didn't try to delete a game, but I cannot install from disk even on a WBFS partition. Other than that, I have no problem with a WBFS partition.

no it's not in R40.
Btw , i've had a little discussion with R-win on IRC yesterday , and told him that fanarts should be the next thing added (when FAT/NTFS and hermes v5 is fixed).
I suggested him to use the wiiflow's magic cache , and it might be possible to do with some changes to the cache and the building of a fanart list to avoid a lookup on every game.
Well at least , R-win didn't look pessimistic about it ^^ (but for sure it will not come tomorrow).

I can confirm R40 is very laggy / dropping frames when flicking through the games, and this is not the case with r39.

with so many updates in the last time, an update function (with choosing between stable and beta) would be really appreciated.

I see a lot of issues about a laggy revision, and I'm just wondering. Only thing new here is the addition of mp3 music, which could affect the menu. My thoughts on this are that most of you don't have any music defined, and thus are not playing any music while the loader is active.
In that case, the loader will check every cycle if there is music available in the music directory. Stupid bug, of course, but I think this might be the source of the laggy interface.

Since I'm at work, I can only see if my code builds, which is does. But now I need some ppl to test this for me. Again: really untested code, but only affected is the music playing. Please report back here.

Thanks. this version works without any sort of lagging

But still.

yeah that's probably the reason. i've got .ogg music and didn't experience any lag with r40.
but i still can't change to ntfs1 or fat1 in the loader, i can only change it to wbfs1, but not back anymore. maybe because my fat partition is logical.

Yes:

* Fixed laggy buggy thingy
* Added svnrev.sh script to change about screen automagically
* Updated Portuguese language (thanks to Pakatus)

Is this the last release before my vacation then?

Edit: I forgot to mention for those using music. The music list is sorted by default. If you do not want that, you can disable that by adding randomize_music=no under the [ GENERAL] section in wiiflow.ini
