I was looking forward to this seeing the makers did Excite Bike 64 as well as a couple of good similar games for PS2 but sadly reviews are saying its awful.

Nintendo Power said:
The makers of Excitebike 64 return to the motocross circuit with a disappointing wreck of a Wii game. Given the developers' pedigree, you'd expect them to avoid such disastrous combinations as touchy motion controls, narrow track designs, and courses littered with stuff to crash into. And why place a greater emphasis on making hairpin turns than on grabbing big air and pulling off tricks? This was obviously intended as the spiritual successor to the Excitebike franchise, but confounding and often frustrating design choices keep it well short of achieving that goal. The lackluster visuals certainly don't help matters, nor do the frame rate stutters that occur when too many bikes appear on screen at once. Top it all of with some generic "extreme" character designs, and you've got one of the most unappealing racers ever to appear on the console.'

I thought this was going to be one of the better releases.

Yep, works on Pal. If you liked good ol' Excite Bike on N64 then you'll most likely have fun with this.

Controls are not very forgiving at first, but you get used to it and they become quite intuitive. It is great fun doing tricks to add to the amount of nitro you have, and then doing massive jumps.

Very arcade-like, but then, that is what I expected.

At this stage I am surprised about the poor review scores...

why don't they just revive the original excite bike, 2 1/2D side scrolling? wouldn't that be simple enough..probably only took them a couple months to code the original game................................................

I also quite enjoyed this game. But then again - I do like arcade racers and I have an attention span like a 3 year old so the 5 minuttes I could concentrate I had a blast.

Edit: Works on pal, cyclowiz 2.6b
