The War Z is still listed on Steam but is not available to purchase. [...] In response, Valve took The War Z down from Steam and is offering refunds.

Only took 2 days.

It's kind of like iOS App Store; the reviewers still let through apps that either are crap, that infringe copyright or are exact copies of other tweaks and apps for the app store. It's pathetic

I thought Steam revered quality control over everything else?

I emailed steam this: i hope it helped them make this decision.

Read the Game Hub discussion section for WarZ on the steam community as well.
This game is uncomplete and most of the features in the description do NOT EXIST. The game nowhere says that it is in Beta or Alpha, and is being sold as a complete game when barely any of the features exist.
I request that the game either be changed to show it is NOT a complete game and includes barely any of the listed features or that the game be completely removed from Steam all together.
Users are getting scammed here, on Steam.
The WarZ developers are CANCELLING USERS ACCOUNTS so they buy a new account so they can earn extra money on their garbage game!

While the game probably shouldn't have ended up on Steam to begin, I think fair blame also lies on the people who bought into this scam in the first place; you can only do so much to protect people from their own gullibility.

I hope someone leaks the game, decrypts the DRM, and pirates the hell outta it. They don't deserve our money. At least when Final Fantasy VII was leaked a while back, Square Enix not only gave money back, but allowed those who suffered a free download of the game.

It was the top seller for quite a time, I'm a bit surprised they took it off completely, especially after the altered, "more accurate" information.

I looked at some video footage of the title and to be honest... it didn't look half-bad. WarZ's true to DayZ's formula and at the same time offers a far superior Inventory system (that is, if you consider the mess presented by DayZ and ARMA an "inventory") and looks quite alright. The players seemed to have actually enjoyed the time spent playing it, so... uhm... big fuss over inaccurate advertising and "to be implemented in the future" features?

It's good to know that Steam is decent enough to give refunds. It was astonishing how consumers who demanded refunds from Hammerpoint (non-Steam versions unfortunately) were threatened to be placed in a global blacklist.

Too bad the game was 85% war inc and about 15% of their own content. all the models are the same, the menus, etc.

The features they said arent upcoming. it never says upcoming ANYwhere on the steam page or their website. It never said alpha or beta, or anything like that.
The videos arent ingame gameplay.

People were getting their accounts deleted with unspecified reasons after people played a certain time just so they would buy new accounts....
