Hacking vwii wont load my hard drives so i can play back up games

ok so i got one 3.0 hard drive seagate and a 2.0 seagate hardrive they both work on my good old wii but will not work with my wii u vwii mode what am i doing wrong? Does not enough power go through the usb ports in the wii u to power a external hard drive both hard drives do not need power cords to run they are formatted to ntfs and my wii has all necessary ioses my wii u system is updated to the latest

You will need to use a usb y cable. The wii u doesn't supply enough power though the usb ports.
