The link I gave you in my last post works fine, I just downloaded it again with no problems. The link that was in the guide before apparently got messed up in some filetrip update, I changed it so it should now work fine.

Hi there, first of all, I would like to apologize if this is a question that has been asked multiple times; I've searched around the site and also backtracked this thread but cannot find something that answer my questions so please don't be upset with me; I'm definitely not trying to be lazy.

So I just purchased a 3ds Xl and also I just purchased a Supercard dstwo from http://www.digitopz.com/supercard-dstwo-for-dsi-xl-dsi-p-37.html The site said that it's already preflashed and is compatible with the 3ds so I'm assuming that means I won't have to update to a new firmware or anything like that? Now here's the extremely noobish question, does this mean I can just plug the card in and drag some game in and just play right off the bat? But what about the microsd card? Don't I have to do something about that? I didn't order one from them so I don't see how they can format that for me. In the guide, it seems like the update will be done through the microsd card and not through the dstwo so I don't quite comprehend how that works; unless I'm totally confused and is mixing everything up. Or does the dstwo card have its own internal memory; hence, the flash is saved in there?

If that's the case, from what step should I be following after that? Do I just follow the instruction from #5 and so on? I'm incredibly excited for my 3ds Xl but at the same time, I'm very ignorant towards this entire process so I want to be as sure as possible and not brick my ds

I don't have any other ds so if I screw this one up, I don't really have a chance to reverse what I did.

Firmware updates for DSi/3DS compatibility are stored on the flash cart itself (not the MicroSD) once the update is run.

During the update process you download the installer for the firmware update and put it on the MicroSD, once it runs it applies the actual update to the flash cart itself.

You will still need a MicroSD and stuff.

Thank you so much for the quick response. I'm really judging my common sense right now; especially since I pretty much answered my own question. = / derp.

Did something happen to the GBATemp cheat forum because when I try to click your link for the site and even just typing the url, it says that it doesn't exist?

Just to see if I got this right, the link at the top on the first page is (latest firmware) outdated right?

The site I'm getting it from says it will update it themselves though, so I'm covered there at least.

@The Real Jdbye, I thought about that and I have blank DVD's and Blurays but honestly after like 90 songs I just listen to it a couple of hundred times toss it out and burn something else or have like 2-3 CD's. Florida here the heat in the car tends to ruin the CD's after like a few months even commercial pressed ones don't last too long.
