So when it releases on the Vita will it support cross save? I'm thinking about getting the PS3 game.
In addition to what Guild posted... last I checked they didn't.Yep. They promised years of free updates and stuff.
And choose to conveniently forget all the quantifier words, and think that because a dev mentions the possibility of something, it's a "promise" and it must be happening or something.Okay, let me pose a hypothetical. Say I am considering doing an update for the PC version of Terraria... In the event that such a thing were to take place, what would be some things that you would be interested in seeing?
To be clear, just because things changed, doesn't mean they should have promised something in the start, and then just drop it because of changes.Instead of calling the Terraria devs "lying bastards", please keep in mind their main dev retired because, oh I dunno, he has a life. He was having another child and honestly I don't think the team knew the game would explode like it did. That being said there is A LOT of content to Terraria and they have bigger aspirations. They're currently working on Starbound.
They did. It was in their FAQ section. They said they would support the game "For years to come."-snip-

How long has Terraria been in development?-snip-
Subjective, no quantifier like you were reporting. How long has Terraria been in development?
Development started for Terraria in January, 2011 and we will continue to support it for a long time to come!
Well, poo on you.Subjective, no quantifier like you were reporting.
And they did, they just didn't claim for "years", for holding them to "years" isn't right.Well, poo on you.
I take "We Will" as a promise. >:C
That right there proved me wrong. You're 100% right. They didn't use the term "Years". So I guess I was mis-remembering.And they did, they just didn't claim for "years", for holding them to "years" isn't right.
http://www.terrariaonline.com/forums/client-server-mods-tools.51/It doesn't need mods to make it "fun".
Why just Vita? Im pretty sure it could run on modern smartphones and with a bit of trimming, the 3DS.
Easy to develop for. It's probably a pretty easy port from the PS3 version. Also Sony has been rather indie friendly recently and indie devs have actually really enjoyed success on the Vita. Shocking, I know. But like Retro City Rampage did best on the Vita for instance.
Nintendo may be dev friendly in the human sense, but they still had technical limits that pushed people away. Like how Super Meat Boy never got to Wiiware because they had a 50MB file limit, and the devs didn't want to cut levels out of the game to make it fit.Yeah, I have noticed that recently they have started putting some big indie titles on consoles (Super Crate Box comes to mind) but its not like Ninty hasnt also taken these steps and the App/Play store has always been wide open to devs. I think it should at the very least be considered.
