Thanks Revolsin :) i'm glad proofreading is still at it, you guys are really helpful! I do wonder if you didn't find any other inconsistencies in the exported script? like keishiro pointed out, in one script the tags for rufeel didn't have any data for eyes/mouth, etc. I told earthdarkness so he'll take a look into it (my gut feeling says we'll get more news on july 12th).

I've decided to come back and lend a hand to help in this project too. Extracted the final japanese graphics in the game and arranged them to finish their translations they are:

credits: i'll get their names finishing SCS 2
Lottery graphics:arranged them using crystaltile 2 (i've gotten used to it) and there does not seem to be tiledata involved, so finishing them shouldn't be too hard.

Yeah, I noticed the Rufeel thing as well. It's not a big issue though, honestly. The Guardian Beasts all have the same 'eyes' and 'mouth', so you can just look at the other ones and figure it out from that.

Note for anyone worrying about this problem: Don't. It's a really small inconsistency that won't actually affect anything.

Anyway, no other issues in the exported script, but I'm still finding a few files in the translated script that are out of order. It's really bad in the one named '018c53ac', which has like 500 lines of dialogue and a lot of them are out of order. I can still do it just by searching for the Japanese text, but it does end up wasting time.

I figured out (kinda late, but that's how I roll) I'll have to check asm routines to see how those scripts work. Dear me I'm slow.

Proofreading is still strong, but I didn't get any updates from earthdarkness, so nothing much to say right now. I made some advances with the asm option on crystaltile though, i could find the script table like earthdarkness did, and i am looking forward to identify some jumps.

I've been following this game's translation for years now, and now it's closer than ever to completion. Keep up the amazing work guys, you're making a lot of people happy! :D

Get a better translation of the text from someone who can understand Japanese.

If you're still looking for that, I would love to help. I have a few years of experience in Japanese, and have played the game before. :)

Report:

Thanks to Earthdarkness effort, the tool he made can insert:

-simple genderless dialogue.
-simple male/female braches.
-join simple male/female text into genderless text.

TODO:

*split genderless section into male/female branches. (might not be that hard)
*complex text sequences and nested branches (text + code inside branching dialogue patchs). (This might be kinda hard)
*big text tag sections are similar to the above and the solution might be the same in some cases.
*And the only other struggle might be the choice box with branches.

According to him the code is really unorganized, so he thought of "finishing a bare minimal implementation of the tools needed and from that start a clean implementation properly organized and with all the fixes and extra features needed".

UPDATE: earthdarkness modified Ritchburn's tools to insert the pairs: "!!" "??" "?!" "!?".
