edit: I can't find python or sendpkm.py in the "exceptions" list in the firewall..I'm kind of a noob at these sorts of things

edit2: ok, I found python (called python26) and I made it an exception. how do i make sure it is allowed for internal and external?

Sorry, one last question. Do I have to turn my DS off and on everytime I receive a new pokemon? i.e. after I get the blue error and get taken back to the homescreen, do I have to turn my DS off before I send a new pokemon?

No, after the pokemon is sent the program on your computer should close, all you have to do is load your game and send another.

Grrr. Now after doing it about 5 times I'm getting a 52100 error when I try to use the GTS. I went to the security settings and checked allow other networks to access, and I power cycled my router and plugged it back in but still got the 52100 error.

First try restarting both the computer and the DS, then try sending one of the PKM files you had that worked earlier.

I have finally decided to post here because i cant figure out why this won't work anymore. I do all the steps correctly set my dns server to the one listed in my python program, i have got rid of all antivirus programs and windows firewall and im on windows xp.

I keep getting this message on my ds when i try to connect to the gts. (NOTE: occasionally i don't get this message and everything works perfectly but most of the time this message pops up on my ds

"An error occurred when attempting to communicate.
Please turn off the power, restart this DS system, and try again.

If the message keeps appearing, please contact Nintendo Consumer Service."

I simply cant stand computers anymore they just don't work.

After i got it to work a few days ago i tried it again today still getting the message.

I can connect to the actual GTS properly 100% of the time. I used to be able to send pkm files to my ds and get them using the method 100% of the time but now, it only works one time every 30 to 50 tries.

ok heres the situation... i was using this program all good up until a few days ago after i went on holiday over the weekend. no one was at home to use the computer and the onlyhting i did was take my ds with me. now when i try to use the gts i get 52100 error.

i can connect to wifi all fine i am no newb.
i tried reinstalling new OS to ensure the was no firewall or anything. but it still failed. so ihave narrowed it down to my ds and router. i think my router may be preventing my computer from hosting a dns cause my ds can connect to wifi.

i think i have opened all my ports and it works sometimes but only after many many tries. recently it hasnt worked at all.

any ideas as to what ports python runs on or any ideas how to help?

hey thanks for the tip but it sorta worked sorta didnt. ... i managed to get one pokemon across but then more troubles...
for some reason i managed to get into the gts but then i get a communication error or if i dont i get kicked...

im not sure if something on the router maybe blocking it. but that doesnt explain why its so incosistent does it?

any other ideas.. every tip is appreciated

I can't seem to drag the pkm file into sendpkm. I have python installed but it still wont work. Anyone know what to do?

Rubix: Shut down any other devices that can use the internet in your home and see if that helps.

I drag the PKM file onto sendpkm.py, but a black command line box doesn't pop up.
Make sure you have Python 2.6 installed (not a 3.x version)

Heyy ive done that before... i also tried using a static ip as all the devices in my house are static, but still no luck.
im thinking about trying my old router to see if that will change anything... cause if tried a different computer and a different os on the original computer...
ive even tried another ds so i have a feeling it must be my router... but i dont understand because everything is open on it :S

Are you guys remembering to have the wifi setting on the DS set properly?
I set my network to spot 2, that way I can make a duplicate of spot 2 and make spot 1 the sendpkm DNS.

what do u mean by setting ur network to a spot? .. ive never heard of that termanology
