Scene dev Zecoxao teases new $3 modchip for the OLED Nintendo Switch, involves a Raspberry Pi

asddasdsa.png

Scene developer Zecoxao might be known for their contributions to the PlayStation hacking world, but this time around, they've got something major for the Nintendo scene. The longtime scener teased the existence of what they claim to be a $3 modchip for the Nintendo Switch, and which is said to work with Mariko and OLED systems, though not patched Erista consoles. A teaser video was also uploaded, where the modchip itself was revealed to be a Raspberry Pi--specifically, a RP2040 Zero unit, soldered into the Switch board, demonstrating Hekate launching on an OLED unit.

Given the tease of "coming soon", we can expect to see more details about the exploit eventually.

Or just don't go online to begin with.
Soooo a self imposed ban? Yeah I'll pass. I accepted my main console would be banned because I did some sus stuff on it. Read (went online with devmenu and a custom pfp) but I was expecting it.

But that's why I have a second console to go go online

I understand modding consoles in places where games are banned or difficult to obtain, but if you live by a Walmart I just don’t get it. Now if you’re into homebrew that’s cool too, but if you just want free games… there are methods that don’t involve piracy.

Was that King 3DS? I believe that was a Gateway clone?
Crown 3DS claimed to be the first 3DS flashcard, there was videos and pictures of the thing working, and there was a homepage tracking the progress until the release date. When this website and videos surfaced the DS scene was still 100% flashcard based and the 3DS was brand new and yet unhacked, so people freaked out. The chatter about this flashcard lasted for months.

In the end the thing never came to be.

Earlier today I got Crown 3DS vibes here, but the thing seems to be credible after all. But as the devs seems uncomfortable to keep going, in a practical sense, it is another Crown 3DS situation.

Namely because of suddenly publicity around it. I don't blame the dev for not wanting to release now

From a repair Standpoint, being able to remarry the nand or recover the board looks really promising. There is a surprising amount of Switch Hardware that enter for a repair and water damage, besides screen repairs and charging port repairs, tend to be the more saddening ones.

With a non-patched switch, that is used for Homebrew and other stuff like installing android, save modding, a Lite for online play, and just recently bought the OLED Pokemon ver. for collection since it's the first one I can actually buy New.

This is really cool and may be a reason to upgrade to an OLED Switch for modding.
But there has to be some catch to it, like it draining the battery or something. Hopefully we"ll see soon.

I’m just lost on those who mod consoles in places where games are easily available, is it cheat menus, the thrill, I am happy though there will be another option for those who want to mod their switch.
I mod mine for customisation + writing software for unique systems (Custom OS, Input scheme, etc) like the Switch is fun

Shame on some of you for putting so much pressure on Zecoxao...that isn't right and now you may be stuck with expensive hwfly chips for the rest of the switch's lifespan.
I doubt it.

I rather enjoy a life of taking it easy. I haven't reached that life yet though.
