Do you know the assembly language for the NDS? We need your help!
SaGa 2 appears to use a fixed length for each text entry, instead of a pointer table at the top of each file. Because of this, we are currently limited to the preset lengths of the Japanese text. We need someone with assembly language experience to help with the project by changing the lengths of text groups that require more space.

wait, wouldn't it just be a matter of editing that one byte? because if that's the case, if it's anything like the games i've hacked so far with string length mixed in with all the OP codes, then it's just a matter of changing that byte, isn't it?

Through assembly, maybe. I don't have enough experience with ASM, but I was talking with DarthNemesis about this yesterday.

so, i've figured out that 2D03 is what they use to end a string, and that something amidst all those empty bytes right there is determining string length. it's past my bedtime so ican't think in hex right now. i'll work on this some more tomorrow...

Good news, Haven and I have essentially figured out the pointer system for the text files. This means no more shortened words.

Right now we are working in steps. We will have a small menu patch soon and we'll continue to increase it little by little. Whenever we reach a landmark so to speak we will try to release a patch. Right now that is how we will do things if anything changes it will be posted in the CN website.

Note: We have been working on this game since wednesday when it was leaked. So i don't think it would be any different if we contacted him or not.

Edit: The problem we where having with some of the text is already fixed. As to the other part we will have it fixed soon too. I'm spending day and night devoting myself fully to this project.
