There is no current patch for Linux or Mac. At the present time you must patch using Windows and the xdeltaUI mod.exe program that is included with the patch. Eventually I will look at doing patches for Linux and Mac users, but currently I do not have the time.

Theoretically, all you'd need to do is load up xdelta for Linux or Mac.

Yeah, just find a way to run xdelta on Linux or Mac. Even WINE would do the trick, methinks.

That is not true unless you are using a specially hacked xdelta which is unlikely as the regular Linux xdelta from Debian/Lenny recognizes the patch format and the patched game appears to run properly (only tested to the fight with Ashura). All you need to do is be sure to have xdelta installed (NOT xdelta3) and use that to patch the ROM.

That is because it is an xdelta1 patch. Try using the xdelta command instead.

Alright I know all the M3 users have had a nightmare getting this translation to work on the M3.

I have an old M3 lite perfect which is a slot 2 device with a Passme card in slot 1 on a DS Lite. I was able to get Saga 2 rom with the translation working on it after hours of frustration.

Here is how I did it:

First I got an untrimmed original rom of Saga 2: Hihou Densetsu - Goddess of Destiny Project that is in Japanese.

I then applied the the translation patch: SaGa2-English-v2.11.xdelta using xdelta gui that I got from crimson noctornal's website.

I then applied the AP fix from the link below:

I then loaded the rom onto M3 using the M3 Game Manager 36a with the following settings: Software Reset, Force R/W, 4x DMA(fast direct), and no rom trim.


The rom works perfectly with the english translation and it does not freeze after your dad goes out the window. I have recruit other members of my team and gotten to fight battles. I can also save data and resume play.

I hope this helps all the M3 owners out there. It is possible to get this rom working but it is a real pain.

ChepChep, thank you for the tips for the M3. Unfortunitly the M3 Real lacks alot of the options that the M3 Lite uses. I will have to do some more playing around with it and see if I can get it working and post the results here as well.
