"The sequel to 2004's Red Dead Revolver, Rockstar's take on spaghetti westerns, is coming to the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 this fall, Rockstar Games announced this morning.

Red Dead Redemption is the story of former outlaw John Marston and will take place at the turn of the 20th century when the 'lawless and chaotic badlands began to give way to the expanding reach of government and the spread of the Industrial Age.'

The game will use Rockstar's proprietary RAGE game engine, which was used in Table Tennis, Grand Theft Auto IV and Midnight Club: Los Angles.

The game will feature an open-world environment which will include frontier towns, wildlife-packed prairies and mountain passes.

I loved Red Dead Revolver, despite the average reviews and 1.5 million copies sold, and it's great to see that the sequel is finally moving forward. Now about that Gun sequel."

The first game was pretty good so I look forward to this as we need more Western based games nowadays.

The first game wasn't on PC either.

I loved this game and totally got stuck on the part where you play as the Mexican general. I really want to play it again but don't want to start from this super frustrating part. Damnit.

I'm confused, I've never even heard of Red Dead Revolver. I assumed it was the US name for GUN or something, but the comment at the bottom suggests I'm wrong.
Looks awesome though, and I think it's a total shame it isn't coming to PC [IMG]. I guess there's hope for a late port if it's any good though.

Gun was by Neversoft and Red Dead was by Rockstar.

Let's hope they port it, after GTA IV I can see it happen.

Really? I could swear I thought Gun was by Rockstar all these years. To be fair, it was an eighteen, and far out of my reach in 2004, so I hardly paid much attention to it.

I vaguely remember this game... Played it a couple times at my friend's house, waaayyy back when. If it's any good I'll probably pick it up, or at least rent it.
