The R4i Gold 3DS Plus doesn't need YSMenu since it runs Wood R4 (v1.64). YSMenu is only for DSTT based flashcarts.
There is a remastered version of Inazuma Eleven 2 Firestorm, it runs very well, and uses original character names (MAMORU ENDO instead of MARK...)I have a problem with Inazuma Eleven 2 - Firestorm (E). The game freezes when I open the menu or the connection map while the music plays. The same happens if I get caught in a battle, I finish it and the game freezes before I get the Exp. What do I do?
It works if I'm using the regular menu but it keeps freezing with YSMENU. And I used the NDS Scene Rom Tool and nothing changed.
I'm using R4 SDHC DualCore Revolution 2019 if that helps.
With the Anti-Piracy Bypass Code, I can play but if I win a battle or match, it always freezes before the "You win" message, and without it, I can't even open my equipment menu.
Wood R4 has 99.8% game compatibility, the .2% are unknown, obscure, etc. basically you can throw a game at it and it will work. Don't let the year of the last update fool you. YSMenu is a decent kernel but it's not as good as Wood R4 in terms of compatibility. Don't be so quick to judge a book by its cover, you have what you need already. As I've stated already, YSMenu is only designed for DSTT based flash cartridges, yours is NOT a DSTT flash cartridge.I've got excatly this flashcard:
With my New 2DS XL with Luma CF the flashcard is not always recognized (I don't know why), but when is recognized I can run Wood R4 (v1.64). Wood is no more updated since 2013.
My question is: there is a YSMenu that can run on this card and give more DS games compatibility then Wood?
Tried to install YSMenu on my R4, and it starts, but have always the "unsupported dldi name" error with every game.
There is an old tutorial in this forum about this error, but the links are all gone and I don't know if it can help.
Thanks to all that can give answers to this questions.

I have this flashcard
Does anyone know that YSmenu is compatible without dying trying?
You can test the YSMenu kernel similar to your R4's name... there are many folders inside the ysmenu rar file available for download... but I'm not sure if setting up ysmenu as defaut kernel gonna be work... also, I'm a big fan of Zero Two :3I have this flashcard

hope it helps... you can just test one by one... but look for similar folder names for your cart...
sorry for my poopy english... :v
R4i-SDHC
Many thanks for your answer!
Yes, after several tests I can confirm that my card works great with Wood R4.
Is not the same for my other card, the DSTWO. I can use the YSMenu, but I can not understand why there is a limit with the microSD size (2Gb only). Others alternative to make DSTWO works at its best?
Also tried with TWMenu, but til now without success...
If it doesn't work on 1.4.5U then you can install Unlaunch which removes the flashcard blacklists so it should probably work then (just make sure to leave the "Launcher Patches" On in TWiLight's Unlaunch settings when installing). Once you have Unlaunch there's three ways you can lanch itI got a card from r4isdhc.com the "R4 SDHC 3DS DSI Dual-core smart update" . I`m assuming it does not support 1.4.5U
Is there anything that will work on this card to support 1.4.5U
And how abut the DSTT, will that work on 1.4.5U?
Hello all,
I'm a bit confused on what to use with my R4 SDHC Revolution GOLD Pro RTS carts. I want to play DS games on my old DS/DS Lite. I believe that mine have a time bomb in them. This is it, but the 2020 version. I regret supporting individuals like that, but it's my fault for not looking into it more.
If I can't use the WoodR4, I should use YSmenu instead, right? I'm not sure if I am setting it up correctly. Download the Kernel from here, use SD formatter, Multi-Card Update, and that's it? Did I miss anything?

No need to download the kernel from the official site. All you need is a formatted SD card, using the formatter you linked, and the Multi-Card Update you linked. Extract the Multi-Card Update and then you need the files in "RetroGameFan Multi Cart Update v7.06\R4i-SDHC YSMenu\"... just copy the following files to the root of your SD card:
Games (folder)
TTMenu (folder)
R4.dat
TTMenu.dat
Stick any games in the Games folder and you should be good to go
I bought another R4 clone before to brute force into my N3DS which doesn't have a time bomb in them. I should have bought another one of those, but I believe that stop making them. Do you happen to know what the size SD cards we can pop in our carts? Thanks for the help.Hi.
You don't have to regret buying it; I have the exact same flashcart with YSMenu installed as the only kernel (no need for the original kernel), and it works great. Simple and effective, it scrolls the menu quickly, has its cheat database and is highly compatible.
Only it's made of cheap plastic and needs to be handled with care.
YSMenu has the advantage of loading roms also from directories and subdirectories, while the original kernel loads them only from the SD root.
However, the procedure you described is the right one and you have not missed anything.
