Release date for Square Enix's 'The Quiet Man' revealed

True to its name, Square Enix's The Quiet Man is making quiet moves towards its release. We got a new trailer a few months ago after hearing nothing about the title since E3 and today, Square Enix announced the release date as well as limited editions for the game. A brand new trailer was also released for the occasion:



THE QUIET MAN takes players beyond sound to deliver an immersive story-driven cinematic action experience, which can be completed in one sitting. In a story that unravels across a single night, players take the role of deaf protagonist Dane as he fights his way to discover the motives behind the kidnapping of songstress Lala by a mysterious masked man.

Regarding the limited editions, PlayStation Store purchases from November 1 to 15 will receive the base game, a PlayStation 4 system dynamic theme, and a set of eight PlayStation Network avatars. Steam purchases will be rewarded with the base game, as well as a set of seven desktop and mobile wallpapers. In addition, those who purchase within this period on either platform will receive a 10% discount, adds Square Enix.

I've never even heard about this, so I guess it sure was quiet. I like the idea of the more cinematic "game" experiences, but most of them end up disappointing. A Way Out recently was one that I enjoyed. We'll have to see how this one compares - in terms of length and pricing too, of course.

Okay, after looking at the whole trailer, the only thing I can remember is of "muévate".

The game looks good, but I was hoping for a game completely sound-less, because, after all, you're deaf, but it looks like this won't happen. Let's see when its price gets lower.

It takes me 5 hours to beat a Layton game so the claim of "beat in one sitting" can vary person to person.
There is a difference between being designed to beat in one sitting and being able to do it regardless of that though.
Metroid games can be beaten in a couple hours, but weren't designed for that.

But I have yet to see the tgs trailer, so I'm cannot say anything about this particular game.

Jokes aside, I never expected this game to come out this early, but i'm excited anyway! Seems like one of the more interesting games out there.

thats it? liar, you must be a genius, some of the puzzles themselves take me an hour to figure out. Layton games are usually 20hr+ gameplay for me

But yes I clock around 5-6hrs on all of the Layton games. When they release, I spend my evening rolling through them. I don't do DLC, so perhaps that is what is inflating people's playtimes a bit. I just do all puzzles, side puzzles (like within the briefcase), and collect all hint coins.

These games have a set pattern, so it isn't difficult understanding how they work after you grasp the first game. For instance, the developer seems to place hint coins on the tips of structures or on notable points in the enrivonment. Puzzles follow the "KISS" rule or Occam's Razor most of the time.
