is there a way i can dump the nand for my wii, sell it, then buy a wii u and put the files back on the wii u

Dump vWii nand is possible, but for recovering brick purpose AFAIK.
I think you just want your saved games and mii no? These can be easily backed up using Savegame manger GX.

no, save data, so all i need to do is dump wii nand then restore on vwii? will this brick vwii? i will be getting wii u pretty soon

home brew app Save game manager will work on wii and vwii
why don’t you get your wiiu, get the vwii on wiiu set up as you like (game saves, miis etc)
THEN sell the wii when you’re happy?

tbh, Wii’s are hardly worth selling at this point, they go for buttons on ebay

I was already using a dumped wii nand on sd card as emunand with cfgloader. All the WADs are installed there and it just works with vWii cfgloader without problems. With wii wbfs and nintendont games directories in sdcard our Wii just continued living in WiiU :)
As already mentioned, use the save game manager for transferring saves.

You'll have to install the loader to vWii and all the channel forwarders you'll need and enable it to use the existing content already on sd card. I don't think doing actual NAND transfer from Wii to vWii is an option.
