The 3DS version of this thread was reasonably successful so I thought I would do the same thing here.

Please don't post "looking for developers" type posts in the forum unless you have a solid WIP repository to show. Otherwise it is just a waste of time for everybody. Instead, if all you have is a good idea but not the skills to bring it to fruition, please share it here. Developers with skills but no ideas will hopefully look here, and your idea may get picked up.

Homebrew list on WikiTemp

We have now a Wiki homebrew page : https://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/List_of_Switch_homebrew_applications
Note that we just created the pages, filling is in progress.
Please, help maintaining it by adding missing or new released homebrew.
Thank you.

These are not really homebrew used to reboot into RCM specifically (RCM requires either a jig+Vol button pressed or AutoRCM)

Official Shutdown option from Horizon OS actually reboots the console, if you have AutoRCM you can launch another payload.

I would love to have a video player one day. Something that plays a simple .mp4 or .avi video file so I can watch my movies on a screen bigger than my iPhones. A man can dream right?

It would cool if there was a media player that could popout and be over everything, move it with the touchscreen, change the size. More than likely won't happen tho

It is being worked on, in fact I am aware of 3 separate developers working on it.

What about a drawing app.
  • Different colors to choose from (including colored glitter, pastels and gold/silver/bronze/rainbow)
  • Pick from: Marker, Chalk, highlighter, paint(flat, round, fan, angle brushes), pencil, crayon, pen(calligraphy), paint roller, air brush to draw with
  • Maybe an option to edit a photo you have taken with your switch and doodle on it
  • Stamps like flowers, cats, dogs (create your own stamps)
  • Different canvas types to choose from like Chalk board, Parchment paper, canvas board, regular paper, construction paper, graph paper(some people like graphs)(different texture is awesome:P)
  • Different drawing widths to choose from
  • Choosing the canvas size before drawing
  • Zoom in and out
  • Paint can to fill the page or between the lines
  • Eraser with different sizes and shapes(Also undo option with redo and wipe canvas clean to erase everything)
  • Layers (if thats even possible) and being able to turn them off/on and switch between them.

Those are some ideas. I might add to this list if I think of some more.

Edit: I have more ideas to add
-Added in paint
-Added canvas types
-Added drawing widths and canvas size
-Added zooming

I might add more.^_^ I also apologize that this is really long.

Edit 2: Yes I thought of more things
-Added in paint brush types, pen, paint roller and air brush
-Added in eraser options/undo, redo, erase everything
-Added in paint can
-Added layers

Im sorry that this is getting really long.

I really want a cheat programme now some how i lost my saves. Lost hours of xenoblade 2, shining resonance, zelda and octopath.

I never did finish octopath.
THIS 100%
An in-game cheat scanner / memory view / disassemble / cheat codes file loader
The ones right now that use a PC are.....bleh
I feel like the SX people will do it, since the gateway people made one too
And even after the GW people made one, homebrew never made a clone, resulting in me having to dual boot GW to this very day just to cheat in-game as i play

Well yes I would dream about this:

1.-Bluetooth audio
2.-Hard Disk Drive support while docked
3.-Mp3 AND video player, like the Wiimc (still use it from time to time)
4.-Hot micro SD swapping, or hot swapping of payloads, you know, change from Horizon to SX OS, or Hekate, without all the hassle of jig etc.
5.-Themes!!
6.-Maybe some folders, or something like that.
7.-Perfect emulation and progress on that topic, like N64, Gamecube, some Wii titles, maybe PS2 games? In a few words, great emulation progress (we are going there already, this is a great time to be alive)
8.-Some way to evade the bans.

That`s all I can think of now. I know we are aproaching another step forward soon.

Not so sure about that - the tendency for "graphics uber alles" tends to lead to very high power consumption

If you look at what's now portability graphics are catching up to console quality

The thing is that the IATA rules impose a pretty hard limit of 100Wh on battery sizes for lithium batteries - and it doesn't look like Li is going away soon

So if you want (say) 4 hours of runtime you need a maximum system-level power consumption of 25W
