Agreed. Love the PoC though. Can’t wait to see future updates for this. Makes me wanna finish my project.
As curiosity, I'm testing different formats now: mkv works as good as mp4!
Please remember lads, not all .mp4 files are H.264/x264, im assuming this player only supports x264. So please remember, x265/HEVC/H.265 videos can be in .mp4 container.
Current status of working/failing formats:
- Working: MP4, MKV, WMV, 3GP, FLV
- Partially (some files worked, others didn't): AVI, WEBM
- Not supported: H264 codec (we would need libx264 which isn't still ported for switch)
This means that they CAN BE SUPPORTED - current beta release only supports loading MP4 files!
Don't worry, I'll add support for all the other files on the next release, plus a menu to select videos from "media" folder!

I believe @Joel16's NX-Shell supports audio playback

I appreciate the work placed into this but why not just port KODI over with a theme that fits the Switch? Isn't that player open source?
So is FFMPEG. Porting over FFMPEG is much simpler than porting a huge application like Kodi. Kodi uses FFMPEG anyway.
