I have a pretty serious issue I can't seem to sort out with DiosMios on my wii. Anyone here think they can help? (I'm asking ahead of time before pasting my issue from another website that is slow to answer)

I'm new to this forum, and I'm hoping you guys can help me figure out what went wrong on my Wii. New hardware (Black console), I started out following some BS guide on Youtube (I know now that wasn't wise) and I wound up downgrading to System Software 4.1U, and using the SoftMod Any Wii guide, it worked okay for a while but I was having lots of game crashing on my FAT32 formatted USB drive (WD My Passport). Then suddenly, my USB drive crapped out while plugged in to my computer. I left the Wii alone for about a year, and then last month I pulled it out and started messing with it again. I replaced my USB drive and re-softmodded using ModMii by XFlak (v 6.3.1). I followed all recommended steps and now my system is much more unstable. I get very frequent crashes and freezes, during games loaded from USB (WBFS Partition) or from homebrew apps on my SD card. I know that the WBFS partition should be changed to a FAT32 one to help with the crashes and I will do that but I've got a much bigger problem when I can't even use YAWMM without causing exceptions. I don't seem to be having any trouble playing games from original disc. Any help you can offer me is really appreciated.

Try to re-do modmii with you telling it that it's your first time hacking the wii. upgrade the system menu if you can, that could be the problem. and use a combination partition of FAT32 32k Cluster on the first partition and NTFS on the second.

Hi

I followed the Homebrew, BootMii and cIOUS installation guides as a means to get Project M running on my European Wii.

I followed all the steps to cIOS until it said "copy the d2x-cios-installer folder to the folder on your SD card called Apps"... But the problem is that I don't HAVE a folder called 'Apps'.

I was a bit confused - maybe I had missed a step in one of the earlier tutorials? Whatever the reason, I decided to simply create a new folder that I named 'Apps' and then follow the guide from there (putting the d2x-cios-installer folder into the Apps folder I created myself). Then I followed the steps up until I got to the part where the SD card must be inserted into the Wii, you open the Homebrew channel and choose the installer that pops up.

Here came the problem: ever since I said "Load" the screen has been completely black and nothing has happened. I'm afraid I might have done something to my Wii.
Is it already bricked? Will it get bricked if I turn the console off and try again?

Please help me, I only wanted to get Project M on my softmodded PAL Wii.

try to use modmii

I have a softmodded 4.3E Wii with HBC, Piiiloader and CFG Loader installed. I have installed WiiWare and VC wads but due to lack of space on the nand, I had to transfer them to SD. This of course causes issues if they are not from the Wii Shop.

I would like to install an emunand and looked into it and saw some awesome setups with USB Loader GX and Wiiflow. Do I need either of those to create an emunand? I'd also like to try GC games, can I do all of this with CFG Loader? Do I need to install more cIOS'. I think I have 249 installed to run CFG Loader and all works fine.

I kinda like the idea of one interface to choose between VC, WiiWare, emulators and Wii games. I have a 500GB HDD in FAT32 format with about 80 Wii games and seeing Wiiflow with GC and emunand looks like a dream come true.

What do I need to do next?

i just used modmii guide, to re-hack a softmodded wii it had several issues i think it only had an old version of homebrew channel instaled and a old version of usb loader, no bootmii, no priloader, just the HBC, when i tried to update the usb loader it was always crashing and another stuff didnt work (syscheck crashing at specific ios)

so i re-softmodded from the begining for easlyness

question number 1: after re-hack i noticed skyward sword now does have weird fps, it is laggy now... what can i do about this...

question number 2: when using modmii i choose to NOT install weather channel shop etc (the preinstalled apps) but they are still there and i can't find a way to remove them, so why did modmii asked if i wanted to install them

question number 3: a message appeared saying bootmii only could be installed as a IOS, is this a problem? can this be related to issue number 1?

optional question, can anyone check if my wii mods are updated?

Hey! Ah..I have a problem. :( I don't have access to a pc anymore which means I cannot convert my gamecube iso's with DMLizard..Which gets to my questions..1.) Does the iso has to be formatted in order for it to function with Dios Mios
2.) Would anyone share converted iso's with me?

Hello,
I want to convert my Loz: Twilight Princess Save File from PAL to NTSC.
I have read some instructions on this forum, using Save game manager 1.0, hex editor...etc

But it didn't work, the save files i extracted are a .dat files( zeldatp.dat), not .sav as in the those instructions.
Thus, when i opened it with hex editor, there's no "P" or "E" or anything to change.

Please help!!!
Thanks in advance!
p/s: i'm sorry if there's any grammar/ spelling mistake, i'm not native English speaker.:P

Hello,

I just got back my Wii from a friend and I had used the Twilight Hack some years ago. I want to update the firmware and softmod and have found the ModMii software which looks super useful! Props to whoever made that. Anyway, I have a question about USB loading - can I use a USB thumb drive for this? If so, does any USB thumb drive work, or can someone recommend a good one? Thanks.

You're right to use ModMii, just select the option for hacking your Wii for the first time, it's safe for updating your twilight-hacked wii. And XFlak is the one who created ModMii and, yes, he deserves props of the highest order. Also: you can use many/most USB thumb drives as a USB HD, check yours on the compatibility list: http://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/USB_Devices_Compatibility_List.

_________________________________________

My turn:

Two questions about system memory:

1) How often should you backup your NAND with BootMii? I saved it the first time I installed HBC & BootMii years ago, then again after ModMii came out and I updated nearly everything. Basically: how much can change on your system before you'd need newer nand/keys .bin files for recovery? (things like changing system menu, updating priiloader, other things that are installed to NAND)

2) Would you ever have to redump NAND for use as emuNAND? I've been using my original years-old NAND dump for my emuNAND successfully, despite having updated pretty much everything on my real NAND since then (system menu, IOSes, etc). Is the emuNAND basically good forever, despite how extensive any changes might be to the underlying system NAND? (system menu, IOS/cIOS/mIOS changes, etc)

Anyone want to help me? I've jumped through a fuckload of hoops and managed to get USB loaders to work. However, the massive issue is that the audio in game (Metroid Prime) skips around a lot, and the doors literally take 2 minutes to load, each. I've read this can be a result of using NMM and having a shrunk ISO, but I satisfy literally neither of those conditions. Any help?

Can a Wii and hacked Xbox 360 share the same USB harddrive? Do they use a similar enough file struction where I could store backups from both systems on it and switch the HDD between the console I'm using for the time?

What file extension is your game in? Also did you use DMLizard to optimize the game?

Hello, please help me with this problem. I'm not sure what's up...

The email "[email protected]" sent me the links " http://www.mediafire.com/modifyanywii," and "http://www.4shared.com/dir/0oQUBGDg/sharing.html." These sites are meant to contain files available for downloading. The files on the file sharing sites are not responding to my avid clicking. I am unable to download anything from both the sites.

Without these files my modding is at a stand-still. Is there anyone whom can help me? Thank you, if you can.

I'm using cfg loader and whenever I try to load a gamecube game I get:
"ERROR: the drive or partition usb:/ is not connected!!"

Is it because my hard drive is in the ntfs format?

I'm sorry everybody. There seems to be many people coming to this thread in search of answers. My request may be selfish as it is, but here I am posting again. I hope that all of the other posting users are able to get the help that they need too, and by no means should my problem take any special priority.

However.

I would really like to solve this problem. Gaming is practically an essential element to a stressed out students life, no? The following is a screen-shot of the issue I am having with the websites. Only one picture will be provided because the issue is the same for both of the websites:
10oi7vn.png

For some vexing reason I am unable to download the files on neither websites. Even as I click the files in question and prompt them to download manually, nothing downloads. I am left clicking the files frantically in frustration.

Does anybody have the "mod.zip" file available elsewhere? I would appreciate an alternative source IMMENSELY! Seriously guys, I NEEEEED the Wii to work!

I want use emunand and n64 games and would like to boot them using cfg usb loader through neek2o....
