In case I need to update my Wii to 4.2U, I just want to know how. Currently, I have a Wii Key 2 mod chip installed, and the Homebrew Channel along with Preloader v0.29. Also, right now, I'm on 4.0U. So how would I update to either 4.1 or 4.2?

Hello all, I am sure this problem is easy to fix however I have not seen an update to this through the search function.

That is what is coming up when I upload a wad. I am running version 4.0 and have the done the Trucha Bug. That is about all I can say about my situation other than the games come up with the above error and I must reset the machine to continue. Any help?

- What partition formats are all supported when it comes to USB loaders? or does any format will go?

Does ocarina or ocarina codes work with uLoader (which I am actually liking compared to NeoGamma)?

there is an option for enabling cheat/ocarina in uLoader. haven't tried it though. i don't use ocarina codes to play a game.

been happly plodding along on 3.2J & D2C ModChip with a few IOS and Cios installations
Just got NeoGamma R8Beta12, and installed Cios v14
First time in MONTHS I updated something
Now course.. like everyone else in the world -- trying to get NSMB to work
Getting green screen then black.. nothing

I really don't fancy having to re download/burn all my Truncha disks
Or "risk" a brick

So what is it you guys rekon I may deffo need in terms of firmware to run this?

i suggest you just update to 4.1U: http://sites.google.com/site/completesg/hacking-guide/trucha

install preloader/priiloader: http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Preloader enable region free channels on the system menu hack. OR
use startpatch: http://wiibrew.org/wiki/StartPatch and enable the same thing. OR
if you do not want to patch system menu hacks, then just use gecko os to run the channel: http://wiibrew.org/wiki/GeckS

So I kinda screwed over my disc-loading abilities. I decided to update to CIOS38 rev15, hoping it'd allow for better compatability with New SMB Wii. Now, when I'm trying to play ANY game using...well, for now let's say NeoGamma, it's greenscreening and taking me back to the Wii menu. Naturally I'm not happy with rev15 at all.

Is there any way to revert back to CIOS38 rev14? If so, how? I've got the rev14 installer still on my SD card ready to be booted from the HBC if that helps.
Can I just install that over rev15 and it'll revert itself?

I don't have a boot2 backup of my setup or anything, which might make things a little tougher in this case. ):

it is because your question is "so how would i update to either 4.1 or 4.2?" right? maybe if your question is "do i need to update my wii to run newer games?" then the answer is NO. you can stay at 3.2 and run newer games. just update your 249, 222, 223 and use the loaders necessary. if you insist on using the disc and you are at lower system menu you can use neogamma so that games could run off 249. if you want the disc channel then use preloader to force loading games to 249. if you do not want any of these then update all your ios using dop ios mod without changing your current system menu so that newer ios are available for newer games. correct me if i am wrong 3.2 users because haven't use 4.0 lower version for a certain period of time.

as usual like any other ios, just install rev14 and it will install over the previous. no need to uninstall. if you insist on uninstalling use ATD mod remove 249 then install 249rev14 again. if you do not know how to use ATD then use WAD Manager 1.5 to uninstall 249rev15 but you have to have its wad to do so. then reinstall 249rev14. but who wants to uninstall. do the first.

try if this will solve your problem: install the older version of ios30 and install the latest version of ios61 with no patches then try to re-run hackmii installer.

cioscorp might have modified the ios that hackmii installer uses.

and as far as i remember, cioscorp have a dvdx fix because it was know that it has this problem, not sure though. i was a cioscorp user before but shifted to modchip due to issues like this.

good to hear you pulled it off. regarding cioscorp 3.5, sorry but i never used it or even tested it. after cioscorp 3.4, i decided to use a modchip. maybe check on this thread: http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=188378. but i'm sure you know about this for you have the cIOScorp 3.5 installer.

It should be safe to update actually. But if you really fear that it might brick your wii, use GeckoOS. Then you will be safe. =)

I have started softmoding my wii with complete softmode guide. I had wii 3.2 Eu and i installed HBC and Bootmii as boot 2.
Then the guide advices to update to 4.2 so i did update my wii with zektor's V4.2 safe firmware updater.
And here is the problem. I have to restore the trucha bug through HBC but when i get to Bootmii and start HBC there is only black screen.
HBC doesn't work.

Please help!!
