Why others like to update using freeshop or downloading the update cia?

I don't know but you can update threw the eshop I have done it plenty of times.

Hello. I am a beginner when it comes to 3ds hacking. I am trying to randomize Pokemon Moon and I am following this guide:


I made the SaltySD folder and pasted the correct files. Downloaded the code_sections folder and placed in the luma folder on my SDroot. Loaded Pokemon Moon and did not find it randomized
Note:
The youtuber's luma3ds home screen has one thing that is different to mine. I have "Enable game patching" instead of "Enable region/language emu. and ext."
Also, it says I need and archives patch for that option. I have a feeling that's the problem.

The restore part is almost at the end of the guide.
That guide is the recomended guide all people follows nowadays,
but you can probably try luma and see if you like it just following the steps in Luma's repository

Because i think to get N3ds xl in future, but not read info what version i need and how to choose it right for N3ds xl

[CFW can be easily set up on any console that is on 11.2.0 (latest) or lower.]

Hello, I have a japanese New 3DS with arm9loader and luma in their last version, and I have trouble to force English language for some games (Luigi's Mansion, Mario Tennis, Mario Maker...)

I have the EUR CIAs installed, I "Enable game patching" in luma's boot, and I selected regions and language in LumaLocaleSwitcher. It's not working, no matter what I always end up with japanese language in these games.

His advice is to rollback to Luma 6.5, do you think it would help? If yes, how to do it?

This happens to me as well with the latest hourly build (trying to put SMM in portuguese). Also, code.bin patches doesn't work. An temporary solution was to "downgrade" luma to 6.6.
EDIT: I also tried to delete luma's files and start with a fresh config and it doesn't worked anyway.

So you succefully selected language by downgrading to 6.6? Which version exactly and how to do it? (i'm a noob and I'm afraid to break everything...) thx

I have just changed to version 6.6 of luma (https://github.com/AuroraWright/Luma3DS/releases/download/v6.6/Luma3DSv6.6.7z)
Btw when i said "downgraded" it was not the 3ds version, only the release of luma.
You only need to replace your arm9loaderhax.bin with the one from the release that i linked above.

When i go in settings and choose profile console freeze without anything new appearing on screen
1. I download and put in root:
arm9loaderhax.bin
Luma3DS.dat
luma\firmware.bin
luma\cetk
2. MSET for NDS cart
3. Then boot mset in nds choose 4.x
4. Go to settings->profile

Is it right?
Because for me it don't work =\
