After a wave of leaks, Lenovo has officially unveiled its upcoming handheld gaming PC to take on the likes of the Steam Deck and ROG ALLY: the Legion Go. As the leaks mentioned, the company officially lifted the veil on September 1 with a video:

Lenovo also shared a dedicated webpage for the product which provides more details about the product as well as a sign up to get notified to know when the Lenovo Go becomes available. The page notes that the handheld is "coming soon" but does not provide any pricing details; but if the leaks hold true, it will go on sale for €799/$799 in October.

The battery life of Switch 2 will be about the same, assuming it can even run new AAA games at all.
We seriously need a breakthrough in battery technology...
Idk why the batteries are the same for years but every other technology is advancing.
Is it so they can sell them more...

Is Moore's Law dead? If not these devices are obsolete as soon as you see a price drop. The ps5 was not a significant improvement over the ps4 pro, IMO.
Windows is bloated OS for a handheld gaming system. Maybe MS can create a gaming version portable OS.

Yeah, his name is Common Sense. There's only so much internal space for a battery, unless Nintendo plans to make Switch 2 twice as thick as Steam Deck, which I very much doubt.
So, common sense is to give a very specific technical specification, with numerical data, for something that do not even exist?

I literally said "about," AKA "roughly." Nothing specific about that. Assuming they want to keep something close to the same form factor of Switch, however, battery life will be less than thicker portable PCs when running the same games.

you're assuming this much about the switch successor:

- It has a battery
- It has the current day battery technology, so you're assuming a near future release date
- It runs on x86 architecture (or an ARM so old that consumes the same as the current days x86)
- it is thin and small
- it will not manage battery any better than the current day handhelds from small Chinese factories (because those are already above 3 hours on their high end stuff)
- Will aim those so called AAA games

As of today, you have no way to know any of that unless your uncle works at Nintendo.

(come on, only thing you can assume about Nintendo unannounced stuff is that it will feature some real dumb idea that will either make or break their company)

Most of these are givens, not assumptions. The Switch successor will be out next year, and the Switch release schedule has already slowed considerably. Lithium ion is all the same, limited by physical space constraints. A big device is out of the question given their target audience is children and pre-teens. Microsoft is confident Switch 2 will at least be able to run CoD games, according to legal filings.

There's no magic card Nintendo has up their sleeve here. Upscaling technologies and setting power draw limits on less demanding games can extend battery life, but those are already options available to portable PCs. It'll always be a balancing act between performance, power draw, and size. The last thing Nintendo wants is to see Switch 2 games running full speed on Steam Deck, and so they'll have to at least split the difference in specs.

Nothing new for an outrageous PRICE!!!!! :rofl2::rofl2::rofl2::rofl2:
This is how you loose a market ^^
You just had to create something that can go up to PS3 emulation and nice controller that WORK but nice overall quality, AT FAIR PRICE around 300 for and handheld....600$ that is already TOO HIGH

This is no surprise to me... Over the years, Lenovo has been trying to dip its toe into PC gaming. There was a rumored unreleased handheld from Lenovo called the "Legion Play" for example which was based on Android, but operated similar to the Logitech G Cloud. That and its pretty meager Snapdragon 720G processor was probably why it was canceled.

A lot of gaming news websites were posting its initial sales price at $799 while some are posting it at $699 so I'm confused which is it.
