Guys you need to patch a clean rom not your v1 rom.
Play time says the correct 3 hours for me. Just patch the same clean rom you patched with v1, then just overwrite it (should be named the same as the v1 rom) on your flashcard and you'll be able to continue your game.

Ah, I'm going to try this out and report back to see if it works on DSTT

When I patched an already played v1 game and reloaded the save, the "Play time" thing showed "???????" This could be a bug, but its nothing major.

I am also experiencing black screens for some reason..

I didn't notice that but it may be a little save file incompatibily problem...

Will this mean I'll have to restart if I want to try out new versions?

No thant not, but you might get 'Play time' error's that's the one thing I know about

Actually, it frozen AGAIN after 10 minutes in the middle of a battle. I also noticed that when the game crashed it said my save files is corrupted and it will load the previous file. :/

NO, just make sure your save file and the rom has the EXACT same name (exept for the ".sav" adn teh ".nds" part.

bur is there no posibility to find another way to patch the rom? Because if the USA version cant be patched how will the European version be patchable? Who will do this text editing for this versions?

I did, but "Full story" seem rather vague don't you think?
I guess with full story you mean all the dialogue.
Also, been playing for 2 hours on R4i-SDHC ver.1.18 no screens or crashes yet.

Nope, too much trouble with changing the firwmare
