Hardware Is it wise to sell my Wii with WODE? Or WODE vs USB Loaders/GC vs Nintendon't.

Should Wii U with GC Adapter Replace my Wii with GC ports and WODE?

I still have my Wii with WODE and GameCube ports, it works like new and looks like brand new.

I also have my Wii U with Official GameCube adapter, Homebrew channel and Nintendon't, but I have never really used Softmod to play Wii games.

I'm asking this here because there are many experts here who can help me decide.

So the thing is...

Does Nintendon't perfectly replaces my Retrocompatible Wii?
and
Does USB Loaders run Wii games perfectly fine with no noticiable lags and bugs, like WODE does?

EDIT: My Wii Cannot play Backups from DISCS.

I think that playing GC backups via disc is best, if your Wii does that then don't get rid of it. I haven't used Nintendon't very much so I don't know how the compatibility is. As for Wii games via usb loader, they work fine on Wii and vWii.

1. Compatibility isn't 100%, but it seems to work pretty well for the most part. http://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/Nintendont_Compatibility_List
2. USB loaders have improved vastly since the WODE came out and they are pretty much flawless now.

I would say if you can get a good price on the Wii, it's worth it. Wiis go for cheap now but it should be worth something to the right person since it has a WODE in it. I've kept mine since it's still what I use to play the occasional GC game, I don't have a GC adapter, and my HDD is NTFS formatted so GC games can't load off it.

WODE is better than disc ;)

What I've done is bought a Japanese GC with a JP/US switch preinstalled + freeloader for PAL games and put HBC on my US Wii U to play my PAL Wii games
Now I've packed my Wii for my brother's Bday present and put my PAL Wii U on offer

End result: I can still play all my games (except for 2 50hz only GC games and my PAL Wii U games which I wasn't playing anyway), I no longer need to keep syncing Wii remotes between consoles or replug the sensor bar and freed up 2 AC ports and SD cards. The gamecube is also very portable and doesn't need priiloader+hbc+gecko to start a game without using a wii remote. Another bonus is my easycap doesn't support pal60 but my freeloader forces NTSC so that's no longer an issue.
I also have the option to mod or homebrew my GC to play backups if I want to.

And that's all just a bonus from deciding to get a GB Player

Only downside is I can't afford a GC component cable, but svideo isn't much of a downgrade.

I had a similar question when I got the Wii u at Christmas (I don't have a wide on the Wii). From the responses I got here it boiled down to a couple of factors. 1. Do I really want to void my warranty on the Wii U? 2. What looks better the Wii or vWii?

Not really to the first question and a mixed bag to the second. It seems how your HDTV handles the processing can make a big difference with different results depending upon the make/model of TV. for now I am happy with the picture quality of the Wii when we do use it so it is an issue I will look at again next year. This way if one breaks I still have a system to use.

I rather enjoy a life of taking it easy. I haven't reached that life yet though.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
Well, from what I've heard from my parents, he had a seizure last night, perhaps an epileptic episode, fucking died, had a near death experience, my dad called the paramedics, they showed up, took him to the hospital, and he woke up covered in tubes, and started complaining.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
He couldn't eat until after his MRI, when he had a bomb pop.

What matters now is that he's doing alright.
