I have same problem. I have a New 3DS Regular. Widescreen.cxi in the TwiLightMenu/TwlBg folder getting deleted and TwlBg.cxi popping back up at the luma/sysmodules folder everytime I try to play at widescreen. And yes, I have enabled FIRMS and modules option in the luma config. Im on latest version of LUMA 3ds as well, did fresh install today. Also used the TWPatcher from Universal Patcher as well as from Sono's forum in all my attempts.

Here are my MD5as well:

Hey guys, sometimes the lower screen down side has some distortion. It happens always with DS Classic Menu and sometimes with games. I believe is something related with DSi mode. Any fix for it?

Look the image above:

Ok, so the glitch is still there. However, now instead of Widescreen.cxl being moved back to sysmodules renamed as Twlbg.cxl, Now Widescreen.cxl stays in the Twlbg folder and a Twlbg, cxl file is created in sysmodules. If I delete the twlbg.cxl file, the glitch goes away, but it and the file returns when playing a game in 16:10

Try re-running TWPatcher, but select a filter of your choice, and don't enable widescreen, as you already have "Widescreen.cxi".

Nope changes nothing, however I did find out that everytime I try to play a game in 16:10 with a Widescreen.cxl file inside the Twlbg folder, a Twlbg.cxl file is created inside Sysmodules thus if a twlgb.cxl file is already inside said folder, a backup of the file is created called Twlbg_bak.cxl and probably will create multiple backups every time I play a game in 16:10 aspect ratio

Guys please help. I just updated twilight menu and now All games are wide-screen. Now how can I know if the games and a wide-screen patch or not? Some games seems stretched, I only want that games with a wide screen patch to stay on wide screen, like before. Should I downgrade? Thanks

Edit:
Tried to put 4:3 on global settings and also game settings, no change. Still wide screen

Edit 2:
Homebrew is also always wide screen

I've been using this for a while now and wanted to say thank you for allowing me to enjoy NDS games on my New 3DS XL.
It has been a blast having a vast library of NDS games on my 3DS MicroSD, to play on the go.

Even in the era of the Switch, the NDS and 3DS form factor still holds up because of its smaller profile and the fact that this application is available. Will be enjoying my handheld for many years to come.

Delete the TwlBg cxi file(s) at "sd:/luma/sysmodules/", and install the latest TWiLight Menu++ CIAs using FBI.

I did it but every time I play a wide screen game I need to delete the cxi file again. The aspect ration option does nothing. Deleted all cias of twilight and reinstall, same behavior.

Edit:
Re-apply Sonos patch solve the issue

How do you re-apply the Sonos patch, cause I'm still having the issue (even reinstalling TWLmenu++ and deleting all TWLmenu++ cias doesn't work)

From the fist page, I deleted all xci files and did this:

Edit:

In the first page of this thread, follow the instruction to apply wide-screen patch

Nope, the Twlbg.cxl file with the filter now becomes Twlbg_bak.cxl and a Twlbg.cxl that causes everything to become widescreen is created which when deleted causes the glitch to go away but comes back when playing a game in 16:10

Update: So, the glitch only happens if the aspect ratio in the per-game setting is set to 16:10. This means I can set the aspect ratio in the Game/apps settings to 16:10 while in the per-game setting set it to default for 16:10 or 4:3 for 4:3, bcause If the aspect ratio is set to 16:10 in the games/apps setting inside the TWMenu++ settings, a Twlbg.cxl file is not created inside sysmodules. So, at least I have found an alternative even though for most games I play, I'll have to set the aspect ratio in the per-game setting to 4:3 as most games I play doesn't support 16:10 but i ca always set the aspect ratio to 4:3 before I play a unsupported widescreen game.
