Using twilight menu to run ds games
Yes, then it's normal.
Some games may require an AP patch.
Hey robz, is there a possibillity that i can brick while downloading hiya-cfw and Unlaunch?
No.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Hello, is there any restrictions for Download Play for Games like Mario Kart DS? I tried to Host the Game on my N3DSXL and download this on the old 1st Gen DS. The Connection works, but in the moment where i want start the Game the Connection lost without any words :/

Thank you and merry Christmas
It's normal for some games, using nds-bootstrap.

v6.8.1: Missing piece of Christmas Gift
EDIT: Rev 02 released!

Updating from v6.8.0 and later
  • Overwrite the `_nds` folder on the SD root, with the new one from the .7z file.
What's new?
  • If TWiLight Menu++ is being ran from the SD card, when launching a game with nds-bootstrap on flashcards, nds-bootstrap's settings on the SD card will be synced to the settings on the flashcard.
  • nds-bootstrap version is now shown on flashcards.
Bug fixes
  • When accessing the flashcard directly from TWiLight Menu++ on the SD card, when trying to access the Settings screen, it will now boot if it doesn't exist on the flashcard.
  • Box art path will always be the SD card one, even when accessing the flashcard directly.

Hey Robz, when i'm checking the download twilight menu++ latest version.. Does it COME in the latest version?
idk. I never used the helper, but it should.
Hey Robz,

do you need some help by programming?

Maybe I can help you sometimes (Some C++, Java, SQL and .net Skills)
What would you help with?

I must say, there has been real progress with this, it's pretty good now. When I used twloader, it was weird loading times and games don't work etc.

My favourite DS is Contra 4. It crashes in level 6, when the skeleton robot boss comes out. I'd alter the NDS bootstrap compat. list, but I can't get permission to edit

If the bottom of the main menu screen has become dark after updating TWiLight Menu++, please redownload the latest version.

Has anyone successfully tested new DS Download Play mode? I've been trying for about 2 days with Animal Crossing Wild World (DS) with Animal Crossing: City Folk (Wii) and it does not work, I looked for the file "dlplay.nds" in Google and I did not find it. Will TWiLight Menu ++ have an update that fixes this?

"dlplay.nds" is just the download play menu from the DSi or 3DS console. If you can already access that menu, then you won't need it.
I’m sorry, but what is grtpwn?
grt = Guitar Rock Tour

Okay! I have access to DS Download Play by TWiLight Menu ++ without downloading any additional files, but the question is: Is it really working? Has anyone successfully managed to make DS Download Play work ?? I'm trying with Animal Crossing: City folk (Wii) and Wild World (DS) and I could not.

Hello.:)

Thank you for the news.
Updated to TWiLightMenu 6.8.1. (Rev 02) with included bootstrap v0.14.0 RC1.

Sorry to say,but a little of issues now:

-WORKS now :yaynds: (bootstrap Version is still shown as v0.13.0)
-WORKS now :yaynds: (classic DS Ui is still black themed instead of white on lower DSi Screen, tried your suggestion from above thread.)

-Softreset always takes me to Unlaunch. On the DSi XL and DSi.

Thank you for your continuous work.:grog:

This new update won't work for me. If there's a .launcharg of any of my DSiWare, it gets stuck loading the folder that contains it. Also makes .nds DSiWare ROMs unplayable (or at least Dark Void Zero). Looking good, though. Hope this can be fixed.
EDIT: Also GBA is not performing as good as before.

  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@TwoSpikedHands just switch, all the knowledge you learned still applies and most of the code and assets should be the same anyway
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    and realistically they wouldn't

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
why the shit does the shitbox randomly insert newlines in my messages
  • Veho @ Veho:
It does that when I edit a post.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It inserts a newline in a random spot.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
never had that i don't think
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
do y'all think having an sd card that has a write speed of 700kb/s is a bad idea?
trying to restore emunand rn but it's taking ages... (also when I finished the first time hekate decided to delete all my fucking files )
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@Karma177 that sd card is 100% faulty so yes, its a bad idea
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the slowest non-sdhc sd cards are a few MB/s
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
@The Real Jdbye it hasn't given me any error trying to write things on it so I don't really think it's faulty (pasted 40/50gb+ folders and no write errors)
  • DinohScene @ DinohScene:
    run h2testw on it

when SD cards/microSD write speeds drop below a meg a sec, they're usually on the verge of dying

Samsung SD format can sometimes fix them too
  • Purple_Heart @ Purple_Heart:
yes looks like an faulty sd
  • Purple_Heart @ Purple_Heart:
@Psionic Roshambo i may try that with my dead sd cards
