These are popping up all over aliexpress, and they are cheap, about $24-$30 USD. I want to get one, but I'd like a full-on GBATemp review first.
(I was going to post this in the review suggestions thread, but its locked.)
And really why not buy a real one?I paid the same price for a good old GBA...
But the GBA is 240x160My biggest attraction to these would be gutting them for their 320x240 backlit screen for GBA mods. (If it can be done)
I have yet to see any other GBA clone have a 1:1 pixel screen until now.
Very unlikely that the clone company would use the same exact interface for an LCD that Nintendo used. It would just be faster and easier for them to use some kind of universal interface that is well-know/documented, so I wouldn't count on utilizing the screens. My biggest attraction to these would be gutting them for their 320x240 backlit screen for GBA mods. There's piles of gbasp k1 (looks like same guys who do Revo K101, I think older version?) knockoffs on aliexpress for like $40 which DO use GBA Carts though... apparently not 8 bit Gameboy carts tho. Theyre not emulators, theyre hardware clones. I would like to know whats up myself. I maybe will; grab if I do I'll toss up a quick write up.afaik, they do not play GBA cartridges. i found a few listings of this on aliexpress and they all mentioned it only works with the card that comes with it, GBA carts wont fit.

Yeah I think it is that one. They also have like Woodi branded ones that don't like the one OP posted, they look like Gameboy Micro I think they're called in those SuperFamicom colors like red-brown and gold. They look alright
If it's this one, don't bother. This is crap.

If ur still interested in something u can play gba on you should check out the link I posted above to the Revo K1. They're a bit expensive but get good reviews. I'll get one eventually.what has two thumbs and bought the gba micro looking woodi game console?
<--- this guy.
these have built in games and do not take any cartridges at all, so you can not play GBA games at all. The games that are built in run slower than the real games on real hardware and sound is horrible.
The device is a lot bigger than a GB Micro and the colors of the screen are... weird. they only look right when tilted up- or downwards, straight on they look too bright.
it takes three AAA batteries, which is nice.
I do have a revo k101 plus. But thanks for the suggestion. If ur still interested in something u can play gba on you should check out the link I posted above to the Revo K1. They're a bit expensive but get good reviews. I'll get one eventually.

I think what I was talking about was gbasp k1 (I believe it's called). I was in a big rush when I replied to you that day. I think GBASP K1 has the same internals as the k101 and I'm nearly positive it's made by the same factory but it's different form factor, it's like those folding GBA, I forget what the model is called off hand. I posted a link to the website earlier in this thread.I do have a revo k101 plus. But thanks for the suggestion.

For me the smaller a handheld is the more I will carry it. I have a N3DS XL now and the only time it comes with me is if I have to bring a backpack anyway. Ideal GBA for me would be one of those mini ones. You know if they are backlit off hand?Yeah, but the form factor I have now is better imo.

The Gameboy micro is back-lit, yes. So the colors are as crisp as the AGS-101 models. But the micro is rather expensive, plus the screen is Really tiny. For me the smaller a handheld is the more I will carry it.
