Guys, this ISN'T a FF game, it's Hikari no 4 Senshi. It isn't even made by the FF team.
The full title is Hikari no 4 Sensei: Final Fantasy Gaiden, and it's made by Matrix Software which is the team responsible for the DS remakes and the FFIV sequel.

Gamefaqs dates are user contributed, and for that reason, often accumulate in a sort of telephone tag, such as:

“Do you think X will come out next year?” ...
“I think X will come out next year.” ...
“My friend said X will come out next year.” ...
“I heard secondhand from a friend in the industry that it’s going to be released next year.” ...
“The company announced it for next year, didn’t they?” ...

Yeah and Matrix Software are only responsible for the programming/graphics. But not for the story/character design/music.

As for when this will be finished.... there's no translator so as for now, I guess, never?

noitora on a site clled gamespot it says q3 2010 if that means anything to you
I don't really trust gamefaqs, they've been wrong many times before :/
Yeah pretty much this.

When Square formally announces it is when it's going to be released.

I am very thankful for you to translate this game..
in my own opinion. no matter how you translate the game...
it doesnt matter for use wether if you used "would you like to save or Do you want to save"

just translate it with all your heart, and we will be very thankful for it..

thx noitora

dont wanna sound rude or anything but,

wouldnt your efforts be useful elsewhere?
seeing as how its already coming out in english perhaps a game thats never getting an english release would be better to translate.

well what ever u do keep up the good work!!

I gained some programming experience from hacking this game. Besides, inserting/extracting text and making patches didn't take more than a few minutes...so as long as there are translators willing to help out...

An English release has not been confirmed at all. Stop assuming because lately you can never tell with Square-Enix.

Gamespot isn't Gamefaqs. We have yet to get Blood of Bahamut, so they might not translate this.

Thanks for working on this Noitora

I am still here to help if it comes down to it. If you get someone translating this I will be here to test and edit as need be. I once thought it was a matter of time before this is coming out, but at this rate I don't expect much for this hitting USA or EUR.

The patched worked, thanks man. I'm not one to usually play Jap games but I have a lot of space on my MicroSD so this is a good time to try out all these translations

Hey noit, thx for the translation. Is there anyway you guys could find a way here to translate the character speech text?

Just asking cuz I really love games with good storys and up to now FF games never let me down when it comes to that^^

If there isn´t any chance for you guys to do it than I will just have to wait and hope it gets released here in europe as soon as possible.

Thx in return to all the guys that helped translating up to this point^^ I am just missing the story that´s all.

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

    but that's a long shot

i think only the red mario kart edition phat was v5
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
