Hey wormdood, so I got the whole thing working somehow lol. I guess this emunand is good now, and that I should back this up ASAP?
you cant that why they call it menuhax autoboot¿How can i launch directly into EmuNAND without having MenuHax on SysNAND?
if its good then yesHey wormdood, so I got the whole thing working somehow lol. I guess this emunand is good now, and that I should back this up ASAP?
Oh, another question: can I use CHMM2 for theme management in emuNAND now? Or do I have to use Menuhax manager for themes still? (emuNAND, NOT sysNAND).if its good then yes
chmm2 for emunandOh, another question: can I use CHMM2 for theme management in emuNAND now? Or do I have to use Menuhax manager for themes still? (emuNAND, NOT sysNAND).
Thank you. Time for me to go enjoy some of those CIA games now then (and MHX, god this is like my only reason for getting CFW).chmm2 for emunand
menuhax manager for sysnand
I recently downgraded my 10.1 o3DS XL using this guide, https://gbatemp.net/threads/easiest-way-to-downgrade-your-new-3ds-3ds-down-to-9-2.409037/. I used this guide because I was having trouble with sysUpdater freezing. I experienced a soft brick and resolved it by removing the Nintendo 3DS folder from the SD card. Because I created a backup of the SD card before downgrading, I was able to restore the backup, dbs, and title folders (restoring the extdata folder caused the soft brick to reoccur).
Athough I successfully downgraded my console, I have a few questions.
- Why does it seem as though rapidly loading and closing ftBRONY before loading sysUpdater prevents the app from freezing?
- I noticed the second 32 character alphanumeric folder in my backup 10.1 Nintendo 3DS folder did not match the second 32 character alphanumeric folder in the 9.2 Nintendo 3DS folder. Why is this?

Is there any reason to have apps on both the SD card to launch through HBC & also installed as cia's? After following a couple guides to get downgraded, emunand, rxTools, etc. all set up.... I am left with duplicates of a few things. Namely FBI, sysupdater, and a couple more I can't remember off hand. Can I just delete one or the other? And why do tutorials have you install things as a cia if they are already in the starter pack and can be run from the HBC?
the homebrew folder itself is sharedAnyone care to chime in? I guess I see zero purpose of having duplicates, and don't some make more sense to have installed on emunand as cia? For example... CHMM. Won't running it from HBC install the themes to sysnand while running from emunand will obviously install on emunand?
lol . . . i dont know if your a good cousin or an asshole one (you could leave him with ironhax) . . .but its not my place so . . . yes you may remove all that and yes menuhax will be gone just remind him that if he deletes them they are gone (no eshop redownloads)Question time: I installed nothing but legit CIAs for my cousin which is more than enough games to last until he gets bored. I ran spiderhax on a 10.3, then installed menuhax and used FBI to install the CIA. Can I delete all the homebrew files from the SD card now? And will it get rid of menuhax?
Yes. You can delete them manually from sysNAND afterwards and emuNAND should be unaffected. However, next time you make a change on emuNAND's system settings, they will be copied to sysNAND again. If the NANDs are unlinked, is it normal to have the systems settings in sync with each other? All the system settings changes I make on sysNAND get copied to emuNAND apart from emuNAND's one working wifi setup.
You uninstalled and reinstalled this cia? Or you uninstalled it and the icon is still there? If the latter, it's causing an error do to it trying to boot a nonexistent title. If the former, I'm not sure why you're getting an error. Either way, try uninstalling the game through system settings. Boot into the NAND that you installed the cia on in CFW. After that, go to sytem settings > data management > 3DS > software and uninstall the game from there. Try reinstalling it after that and see if it works.Does anyone know what's wrong when I get "an error occurred" message when booting an installed cia file? It worked for me before but after rebooting the device and uninstalling reinstalling the cia I keep on getting the error message. The cia file is an undub Devil survivor 2 record breaker
For O3DS use this tutorial. For N3DS use this tutorial.Any tutorials how to install cfw for 3dsxl i'm o-o confused.
Could be a couple things.alright so i followed this guide: https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-how-to-install-a-cfw-on-a-9-0-9-2-n3ds-without-cn-oot.398394/ to install cake cfw stuff, all seem to work fine but the fbi cia iinstalled is nowhere to be found when i boot cfw with cakes. It comes up on my homemenu as a blank button bit dissapears shortly after. And i cannot install it again via HBL fbi since i get an error.
Any ideas?
You will need to go to the "Nintendo 3DS/<id0>/<id1>/dbs/" directory on your SD card and create empty "title.db" and "import.db" files. Then, go to System Settings -> Data Management -> Nintendo 3DS -> Software on your 3DS and let it repair the database files.
Could you give more details? What were the last things you did before this started happening?Oooh boy. I have no idea if I should ask here, but as of recently, my 3DS won't stay on for more than about a few seconds without giving me "An error has occurred."
Note that this happens with or without an SD card, no matter where I am (home menu, a game, browser, etc.)
I believe I just launched ninjhax a few times. The last major thing I did was accidentally making all my SD card data unreadable (my home menu is default again, although my DSiWare and NNID are still intact).Could you give more details? What were the last things you did before this started happening?
Do you have HomeMenuHax installed as an autoboot? If so, did you set an override button to avoid running HomeMenuHax? Again, if so, try booting the 3DS while holding the override button.I believe I just launched ninjhax a few times. The last major thing I did was accidentally making all my SD card data unreadable (my home menu is default again, although my DSiWare and NNID are still intact).
Not sure why this is happening, as I haven't touched the 3DS itself other than actually downgrading it. Maybe that was the problem?
