Can I somehow make my R4 card 3DS compatible? Otherwise I'll have to buy another 3ds flashcard and I won't be buying that for a couple more months..
This is what is says on the label:
R4
Upgrade
Revolution for DS

there are literally a million r4 cards. most can be made to work. whether it plays a 3ds game or a ds game is a different thing. some are blocked on 3ds. how big of a sd card do you have? in 3ds settings... what firmware version does it say that it is?

OK, I got sysupdater to load up finally. What's this mean?

"Use the HOME button if you run the CIA version."

The files in my update folder are all .cias... or does it mean the .cia version of sysupdater?

I used to use it on my DS Lite, it can only play .nds files (ofcourse). What do you mean with sd card? The micro-sd card in the r4 card is 2GB and the SD card I got with my 3ds is also 2GB. The firmware version of my 3ds is 4.5.0-0E.

I'm on 9.2.0-20U, downgraded from the newest fw. I'm trying to NAND backup, the first time I launch HBL via browserhax it works, so I open PastaCFW and start it, the screen becomes black and I get returned to the home menu, but after that, I can get to open the homebrew launcher again unless I turn off the 3DS (thus not letting me install FBI, which I need).

Any advice? I posted in the previous page the steps I followed, just in case I messed something up.
Thanks a lot!

OK, I ran the downgrade by pressing Y, and 13 steps completed successfully (I think). But then I got the "An Error Has Occurred" screen, and had to power off.

When I rebooted, I checked System Settings -- it's on 9.2.0-20U now! But I worry that something went wrong at the end of the install...?

The n3DS is on now. Just turned WiFi off. Anything I should check?

So I seem unable to get my eShop games transferred onto Emunand. I've asked several times but never got a reply; what's the best way to restore my 3DS to the state it was in when i did my NAND+SD dump (before formatting for emuNAND)?

I think you should consider buying a 32gb sd card (not micro). You could put rxtools on your 3ds. lots of people have bricked trying to update to 9.2. i dont have the courage do it.
the tutorial i used from the original maker of rxtools:
http://pastebin.com/WVszD3Tm
note that this version will not autoboot. there is a newer version that a different team has been working on which i know nothing about. you may want to look into this newer version because you would have to have an exploit every time you go into emunand. You could use the mset exploit if your ds flashcart can work on your 3ds. post up a picture of your ds flashcart.
I personally have cubic ninja, so that works fine for me until i finish a few games i have started.

Hi there again NOOB Paradise I have my N3DSXL coldbooting into RxTools EmuNAND but in an effort to leave my sysNAND with my NNID etc i've left splitting my NANDs until i was able to instead format my emuNAND.
I was wondering if the method for doing this was the same as formatting sysNAND?
Do i go into system settings RX-E 9.2.0-20E > w/e > format and then leave the SD card in?

Thanks for your help

I recently downgraded my 10.1 o3DS XL using this guide, https://gbatemp.net/threads/easiest-way-to-downgrade-your-new-3ds-3ds-down-to-9-2.409037/. I used this guide because I was having trouble with sysUpdater freezing. I experienced a soft brick and resolved it by removing the Nintendo 3DS folder from the SD card. Because I created a backup of the SD card before downgrading, I was able to restore the backup, dbs, and title folders (restoring the extdata folder caused the soft brick to reoccur).

Athough I successfully downgraded my console, I have a few questions.
  1. Why does it seem as though rapidly loading and closing ftBRONY before loading sysUpdater prevents the app from freezing?
  2. I noticed the second 32 character alphanumeric folder in my backup 10.1 Nintendo 3DS folder did not match the second 32 character alphanumeric folder in the 9.2 Nintendo 3DS folder. Why is this?
    (10.1) Nintendo 3DS\ed2e2c6a28c6ac29749c28b55c8cbee9\3e29ccdd5b7ba66a323e19440eca56a7 and (9.2) Nintendo 3DS\ed2e2c6a28c6ac29749c28b55c8cbee9\d3d094ca7e7bbacb565923ebc6a05a41
  3. I observed that restoring the extdata folder caused a soft brick to reoccur, but restoring the backup, dbs, and title folders did not. Why is this?

Should I run the downgrade again? Or would that be pointless since it says it's on 9.2.0-20U?

Something must have gone wrong for that error to occur... Is there a way I can check which .cias installed and which did not?

Question....I have updated my emuNAND on Gatweay to 9.5. My emuNAND and sysNAND are not currently linked. I have two issues/questions:
1. Whenever I go into emuNAND the .cia's that I have installed show as being "new" and have to open them again on the homescreen. I didn't have this issue previously and wanted to know if there is a fix?

2. Finally got connected to wifi and the Nintendo store I have updated Shovel Knight via the eShop to 2.2, but the update is not taking and the software still shows to e at 1.1 when I start the game. Anyway to get the update to take?

Maybe just try to install CFW? I mean if it looks like everything is done, why not.

Any idea?

Rest all is working fine :)
. . .fail not an error . . . hmm do you have dns blocking set up ?
