Originally planned for a release sometime this year, Ghostwire: Tokyo has been delayed to 2022. Developed by Tango Gameworks, the studio behind The Evil Within series, the FPS game was expected to launch as a PS5-exculsive title this year but the developers announced in a tweet that they have decided to delay the release:

and yet, there are many millions of people who do not, in fact, own a PS5.

And yet, you were trying to make it seem like purpose is lost under some false pretense that few people own a PS5. However, my point was that millions of people own a PS5 so no, there is no purpose being defeated.

You mean scalpers?

No. Because they aren't sitting stockpiled and unsold in anyones closet. They are being sold like hotcakes to people who actually use them.

you mean those that have too much free time on their hands and use bots to snag one before any normal person with a life can grab one? yea that is correct.

No. I am correct irrelevant of who is purchasing them.

Nearly 8 million people have a PS5. :)
This is surprising considering the whole situation, but it's very little considering that other consoles like the PS4 have an installed base of 115 Million.

In summary, a lot of people still don't own a PS5 yet, either because of scalpers or for financial reasons.

I don't see much sense to release PS5 exclusives this soon until this issue is resolved, I don't even think about buying a PS5 myself, the pandemic here in Brazil has left me in a horrible financial situation and the PS5 is almost impossible to find (and the ones that are found are absurdly expensive), It's no wonder that games like the new God of War and Gran Turismo will go cross-gen, and rumors of games like DarkSouls Remake and Godfall also make it to the PS4.

It is a good decision to delay the game to 2022, who knows the situation will improve until then, launching now will only make the game flop in sales.

It's a bit silly to think games shouldn't be released just because you don't have, or can't get, a console.

The PS5 has actually sold a very similar amount to the PS4 in It's first 9 months. It only seems like less because a lot more people want one and the supply can't keep up.
