I just checked the game list and all my games that I have and plan on getting are good.
Coulden't I just get the R4isdhc GOLD Pro 2019? I don't plan on doing any modding beyond what I already have done.

so I have been using ftpd because i don't have a pic and I would contact to my tablet. all of a sudden it stopped and now I don't know what to do. can someone help

Last set of questions.
Just ordered a R4I 3DS Gold cart, thanks KleinesSinchen!
Is there any special brand of MicroSD I should get for a R4I 3DS Gold, or just stick with known brands? Size is not a concern with the limited games I have. A 16GB card will work just for ease of finding.
I was looking at things, and was thinking about a Kingstone Canvas Select. Otherwise I will get a SanDisk Ultra Plus.

For setting it up, it looks like all I have to do is download the firmware and put it on the root of the MicroSD and then put the cart dumps in the same place. My question is with the saves I already have on the cards. I have TWL Savetool, however so I need to convert the extracted save files?

Whats the difference between using a flash card and the Twilight Menu. Is it the same, or is one of them just software emulation or what? I never owned a ds

There should not be any problems:

I’ve yet to find a microSD that does NOT work with the R4i 3DS Gold. Tried various brands and up to 128GB – no problems at all. But you are right about the size of 16GB. It is enough. I have about 50 DS games of all kinds including the giant Pokemon Black/White 1/2: Together less than 6GB. You don't need any super fast microSD either.
Download latest Wood_R4iGold_V1.64.rar from the site given on the cart and extract the content to the root of your microSD. Put ROMs and/or homebrew in folders as you like (or directly into the root).
I’ve never used TWL Savetool; if it extracts the saves from the cartridges, it should work. I tried it with Checkpoint and Mario 64 DS. No converting needed. Put the save files in the same folder as the ROMs and name them accordingly:
- My_game.nds
- My_game.nds.sav

Neither of these options is emulation. Both run the games directly on the ARM9 CPU. A flashcart has it’s own storage (microSD) while TWiLight Menu++ uses the (micro)SD inside the DSi or 2/3DS system (it can also access the one in a flashcart in addition).

TWiLight Menu++ advantages:

No need for a flashcart and an additional microSD.
Good for the battery. An inserted flashcart drains the battery faster (even if not in use when playing 3DS games).
Can apply higher CPU clock frequency (133MHz) to DS games. Sometimes this reduces lag.
Can apply higher sound frequency of 48kHz on DS games.

TWiLight Menu++ disadvantages:

Newer ROMs have to be patched.
Compatibility is not perfect (yet) but has improved. (Frequent updates in the last weeks!)
Missing some additional functions such as savestates (cheat support was added to TWiLight Menu++ lately).
Compatibility with DS homebrew is limited at the moment.
Can't be used on a DS-lite/phat (without having a flashcart).

Should I update firmware before installing Luma into sysnand? My firmware is really old (4.3.0-10E)

You can do it either way, there is three free method you can use, one for your current firmware, and 2 methods for 11.9

Hmmm, okay, so I'm trying to hack my nephew's new 2DS XL via Frogminer, and I managed to get to the part where I have to use Power Shell to make the movable_sed files. Well... I thought my GPU was plenty powerful enough, but it says "Error: out of resources"

*sighs* I have an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060, I thought that was good enough, I managed to get the movable_part2 file, though. Is my GPU really not that strong enough?

EDIT: Never mind, I forgot I didn't have my laptop plugged in, and I have it set so it lowers peformance when not charging, I got the movable.sed once I did so!

There are multiple options.

If you have no homebrew or CFW: Start the "Download Play" app. When it has started, hold the (SELECT) and touch the icon for DS, non-3DS Download Play. Hold the (SELECT) until the old DS Download play boots. If the button works, the app will be shown in pixel perfect, small, not covering the whole screens.
If you have any Luma CFW hold (SELECT) while booting the 2/3DS console. This should bring up the Luma settings.
If you have Luma CFW ≥ 8.0 access Rosalina menu with (L)+(dpad-Down)+(SELECT) – assuming you haven't changed the combination in the past.
Download 3DSident-GUI. You can access the button test with (START)+(SELECT) simultaneously.

The last option allows you to test all buttons, if (SELECT) works. This is good not only to test if you can get some sort of signal from a button, but also see if it reacts normally every time for short presses.

ok, i have a couple questions reguarding lumas region free.
i have a copy of yo-kai watch 3 euro region, from what i gather, i can either play it on my sky3ds, or with godmode9 i can convert it into a cia from my sky3ds+ which is what im doing now. i will be installing the cia to my console, which is a USA region new 2ds xl 11.0.9-42U on luma3ds9.1 cfw b9s.
im told that once that cia is installed i can play it online even though its a euro region? i was reading other gbatemp articles saying i would need a config.cia file to bypass eula?
any help is appreciated.
i yo-kai watch 3 isnt released in the usa yet and i dont want to get banned.

Hello, I have an old 3ds on version 11.8.0-41U . What's the best option to get cfw. I don't have the submarine wars game so in order to get it I have to update my console. Is the easiest way just to update and get sub wars or is there a benefit to keeping my system on 11.8 .

With 11.8 you would need a flashcart or hardmod which requires soldering.
11.9 you can just use frogminer

There have been reports of a wave of bans being handed out to CFW users by Nintendo. To protect yourself, please do the following steps before starting this guide:

Hi guys, i need some informations about the luma3DS. I did it like 2 years ago and since then i never played my 2DS again (what a shame i know haha).

So i have some questions :

- I have an update of my 2DS when i turn it on, can i do it ? Or i have to update luma3DS as i have seen other posts ?

- I download my games on free e-shop is it still good ?
