    Hi,

I've stripped the screws on the back of my New 3DS. I want to upgrade to the latest hacks, as I haven't touched it in a long while.
    I'm on 11.3.0-36E.

Is there a way I can upgrade to the latest Luma etc over wireless?
Or has anyone any tips on how I can get the back off to get at my SD card?

    Thanks

That’s a bit strange. The end user is supposed to open the back cover; these screws are bigger than the others inside and not as tight. Depending on how badly the screws are stripped you can still get them out with the rubber band trick. There are other methods to get stripped screws out. However, you might “disimprove” your situation when trying harsh methods.

If you manage to get the screws lose, do not use them anymore. Try carefully removing them from the cover and replace them.

    About the wireless access:
    1. Good method:
If you already have ftpd (as installed CIA or 3DSX for the Homebrew Launcher) use Filezilla or another ftp client to push files to your micro-SD.

    2. Bad method:
In case you don’t have ftpd, use the crappy SMBv1 server the official firmware provides to push ftpd. When I say “crappy”, I mean crappy. As far as I know it does not work anymore with recent versions of Windows 10 because SMBv1 has been disabled for security reasons.

According to the Nintendo site it should work with Win 7/8.1 (any maybe also outdated Windows versions). I would really like to say “use a live Linux system if you only have Win 10”, but this is also not really good. I got it to work – sort of. References: [1], [2] (scroll down to the answer).

Once you have access to the microSD proceed normally with updating your hacks. With any wireless method you will need patience for uploading large files like game CIAs because the WiFi is slow. But better than nothing if you can't get it opened.

    EDIT:
If all else fails use fire a virtual machine with Windows 7/8.1 to connect to the smb server.

IF ALL ELSE FAILS USE FIRE (Quote from Zelda II)

Simple question hopefully... which flashcart best mimics the Supercard DSTWO in terms of functionality with features such as real time saving/loading and emulation (nes/snes/gba etc)?

I would just buy a DSTWO but no one seems to sell them anymore.

I have a Dstwo but it wont run on 3ds and i have been looking for the flashcart timewarp.cia file for a while now or something i can do to allow me to run my flachcart on the latest firmware.

i used 3dnus to try and find the file but so far ive had no luck, i want to find this old file/cia so that i can see if the flashcart works or if its just my 3ds.

if anyone knows where i can find it please tell me because aside from old references and alternatives that require and older firmware version i cant do anything with it. pm me if you have a solution or ill check back later for a reply

Are you saying that you get a white screen when you press the sd button on the second picture?

Hi, i've 2 nintendo new 3dsxl cfm b9s. The first one is 11.9, the second one is 11.8.
I've an r4igold.cc flashcart 2017 labeled that i can use without any problem on the 11.8, but the same r4 isn't recognized on the 11.9. The slot 1 appear as there is nothing in it. Also starting godmode9 on the 11.8 i see two files .nds of i select Cart form menu, but on the 11.9 using godmode9 i can't see anything selecting Cart. Also ntr launcher won't start the r4 on the 11.9. I'm sure that r4 isn't brik because it works on 11.8 cfw. Is it possibile that 11.9 block this type of cart? Thaks

Looks like contact issues on the system with 11.9; it is not blocked by the firmware. Nintendo's last attempt to block flashcarts for the DS-mode was the firmware 7.0.0-13. Even if it was blocked, GodMode9 would at least show something.

Try a normal DS-game to ensure the cartreader is okay; sometimes flashcarts have bad contacts, maybe the paper trick helps.

I'm interested in getting a flash cart for my new 2DS. I am running Luma CFW, and have my 3DS games CIA installed, but I would like to get my DS games on one flash cart.
What is a good flash cart without a timebomb for DS game images I will get from my personal game carts?

Mostly recommended is the R4i Gold 3DS Plus.
    • No timebomb
    • RTS support (only one savestate)
    • Supports almost all DS games
    • Internal switch for ntrboot (easy hacking any 2/3DS system and recovery from the worst software problems you can think of)
    [nds-card] and [mod3dscard.com]

A fantastic alternative to a flashcart is TWiLight Menu++. I has seen enormous improvements although it is still not perfect and newer ROM with anti-piracy "features" have to be patched (not needed on modern flashcarts like the R4i Gold 3DS Plus)

Funny thing, more then half my games are either not compatible or have problems with Twilight Menu++, which is why I want to get a flashcart. I assume that I will be able to find a list of compatible and/or incompatible games with R4i Gold 3ds Plus.

Compatibility with R4i 3DS Gold Plus is almost 100% - the only game I know that does not work is this Pokemon game with the keyboard. Educational game to learn typing. The cartridge has a Bluetooth module - which is missing in any flashcart. If there are any other games with special hardware these might not work on a flashcart.
Pokemon games with Infrared communicator work on the R4, but lack the IR features of course (you can't use the IR inside the 2/3DS console)
