Maybe some power management related functions to prevent the Switch being stuck in RCM, draining battery. Or maybe automatic NAND disconnection as a different implementation of autoRCM.

First I want to say I am a huge fan of team rebug and I wish them well. I am happy to see efforts being made towards a mod chip but my final opinion will be based on feature set (cfw loader for multi firmware would be nice). With that said I will be forgoing such an item.

I currently feel that until nintendo does a hardware revision the world is ours.

We can easily simply boot to a stock console by removing a memory card and not triggering our exploits be it dongle or tethered etc. This is quite advantageous. I can picture stealth programs that remove traces. I can see me happily using my switch online on the eshop. I think nintendo has a big problem on their hands.

When using such a device as the mod chip described I feel that advantage is lost. Since an actual modification has been made I worry it could easily be detected and would take away my eshop ability (which is all I want I don't want to cheat at online games I just want to be able to buy legit games if I wish to has been my issue with pretty much every console I mod that I lose that ability at times and I dislike that). That is not desirable to me.

But why? You could just do a loop request until the console answers, then send the payload, then sleep until power off.

Maybe that's why they said 5 wires, maybe 4. They're thinking of taking out the Reset pin.

Why doing such a hassle when the console has a pin where you can detect if it was reset or not?

Well, trading a (tiny) soldered wire for a dozen lines of code is not too bad. But it's a matter of opinions

That would mean that you would need a process running in the background that constantly asks if the modchip is present (or vice versa). Trust them, a wire for this task is akways better and was always done this way. Check every modchip install guide for several consoles and you will always find that reset wire

I can hand solder down to 0603 (0201 Imperial). Do TSOP QFP. Reworking facilities if any good... Don't mind testing. Assuming it's using a 328p or something...

Edit... As poster above me noted... Nothing remotely difficult regarding the pictured etch...

ahh good that I am working in a german ems/pcb factory, can make this thing instantly without waiting for chinese pcb manufacturers. Does someone have the gerber files?

Interesting. I wouldn't really use this internally. I'd probably build it into a project box, and solder on a USB connector onto this and call it a day. Could be useful for those who still want it as an external device. Maybe make a larger more spaced out and/or through hole version for those who want to keep it as an external dongle?

This is probably similar to what Xecuter was going to offer before the exploit was leaked. Now we have an open source chip in the works and China is going to clone the Xecuter dongle as soon as that releases.

I don't know if you are reading this, but thank you for leaking the exploit.
