Copied from my other thread

First thing i've tried is to get the VC GC injector going, this always results in either a black screen or a "failed to create ememory card file" error.

I've tried 3 different SD's (1 64GB, 2 32GB) formatted in a mixture of default cluster allocation and 32kb cluster allocation and still the same error.

I assume i have the correct ios installed as prior to trying the VC injector it worked fine through wiiflow with iso files, now it does not.

I have gone into nintendont via vWii homebrew channel and even now that fails to see the SD://games folder although it is definitely there.

Everytime i have formatted the card I am using built in windows formatter, but im at the point of giving up now, anyone with any ideas on how I can get this resolved.

As would like all the games running off my HDD

well are you sure your sd cards are unloked? it seems wierd 3 diferent sd cards fail to save. could it be the sd adapter itself? if you are using micro sd cards?

3 micro sds surprisingly 3 adapters all copy to each card so not locked but nintendont does seem to see them at all

I'll give it a go, the only thing that confuses me is the wii u and vwii sees the sd card otherwise nintendont wouldn't even boot but nintendont doesn't see it at all.

make sure you choose actual fat32 32k those are the best values for nintendont.

although mine is very old, i think mine is the very first model they had

it seems i have found a pretty consistent crash spot
save #3, you appear at chicken farm at night, go straight to cabin and enter big gate where you suppose to piggyback ashley, i start tapping Y while game is loading to open invertory as soon as possible
it will either show invertory or crash
IT WON'T CRASH ALL THE TIME, but it crashes there often for me, like 4 out of 5
if it didn't crash, open menu and RESET the game, don't load, but reset and then load #3 again and repeat
i tested it from sd card and from usb hdd, crashes from both

please someone test it, re4 north american version disc1

loaded the save 7 times in a row without crashing and even mashing the y button after passing trough the gate it is the gate that has some bear traps on the floor right? if so no freeze for me 7 times in a row with matching and entering inventory after loading.

gate with area with merchant and a bridge to cabin on the other side of it
did you reset after each try? it seems to be important
also open invertory only right after the gate, don't open it before entering the gate

just wondering try this dol its an older nintendont (not by much) but it was before some out of bounds codding and such rename it to boot.dol and put it in your sd card i wonder if this is the culpright

so i did some experimenting like you said it would crash if you pressed inventory fast after the gate sometimes, but i turned you save into an individual save by simply renaming to G4BE.raw and turning the multi to off and now i cant trigger the crash anymore, smost people use individual saves so it may be why no one has crashes tough.

just try it with latest nintendont, maybe its becuase of multi, i mean why are you even using multi 251 blocks? it will fill up preety fast and you will have to make another multi and save that one on your pc or something.

it's not the point, the purpose of this method is to show you that indeed there is an issue with nintendont
it will randomly crash on cutscene, it's just harder to reproduce

fix94 is the dev and he said he isnt interested in pursuing this, like i said i never had a crash when playing the entire game obviously i dont mas inventory when changing areas, this probably makes timmings go off easier and crash.

so unless you can convince him to do some work sadly no one else has the capacity to fix nintendont.

well too bad, like i said it's not about mashing a button in this particular spot
it's to make it crash consistent to be able to debug the crash

Why does Nintendont ask me what game to load after I already chose the game in CFG USB Loader? Why won't my USB Gecko connect? I left the settings as they were and it was connecting fine with DIOS MIOS. Where do I store the save file/files? Is the format the same as either DIOS MIOS or Devolution?

Because CFG isn't really maintained anymore and it's probably using a Nintendont settings interface from a few years ago that is no longer compatible.

Saves get put in /saves/ on the same drive your /games/ folder is on. They're a raw image of a memory card with no extra headers, etc. (I think the same as Dolphin.)
