While I really hope they will be announcing a Pokémon game for the Switch, I'm also slightly doubtful of it. Normally when a major Switch-related presentation is announced, it usually appears in the News section of the Switch Home Menu. This Pokémon Direct isn't mentioned there at all.

Again, this isn't solid indication of anything since they could have just decided to leave it out of the Switch News to avoid spoilers, it's just an observation I had.

oh boy i hope it's not something like this lol

although the build up hasn't been big (at least i only saw about this today) - but it would suck if it's just pokemon card trading game coming to the switch vc store

You can have the TCG the game, but it won't be on Switch. You will get a three-minute intro about the history/love/general Naruto filler-episode about Pokémon. You'll most likely get a Switch version of Pokken. Sun/Moon will probably get DLC. You have a 30% chance of a Red/Blue version 2 set 20 years after the original with a Neo Eon ticket for travelling to Sinnoh. New evolutions like Snoozlax, HitVanDam/HitOngBak, Plessiras, Mrs. Mime, with new megas for Dragonite, Raichu, Tauros, Arcanine, Machamp and Fearrow. Lillie will replace Ash in the anime. Mew will definitely be encountered underneath a truck.

There it is....Pokemon Sun and Moon sequeal coming to N3DS and Switch.

I'm hyped, they wouldn't dedicate a pokemon direct for spin off games. All Pokemon directs have been about a start of a new gen annoucement or further details relating to it, wait this isn't gen 8 news, but Switch's first mainline game is important right...

Hopefully, it is the third version of Sun/Moon, on the 3DS. Unless such a game has a bunch of worthy extra features, there is no chance of me buying a Switch anytime soon.

Something new vs ports
It could happen.

I guess we will just how to wait and see.

I hope its some good news and not just some crap like a new pokemon go , or snap app for phones.

I don't see a game releasing on the Switch yet, Pokemon games sell tens of millions of units and I don't see that happening yet with the amount of console sales to date.

Sorry everyone, seems like the pokemon-stars domain was a false lead. A Whois background check reveals that the domain was not registered by Nintendo. The same domain provider has also been historically used to register dubious domains such as "nintendo-gamer" and "nintendoswitchreleasedate". I've been able to track down the private profiles of the individuals who bought these domains in the first place and can confirm that none of them work with Nintendo or are officially allifiated with Nintendo in any way. I wouldn't be surprised if these were just domain squatters looking to make a quick buck selling these domains to official companies like Nintendo.

I apologise if the original post I made was misleading.

You're good. We debunked it a few pages back

This is what I believe we may get

-Gen 4 remakes (fuck yeah!)
-Pokemon Stars
-Pokemon Stadium Switch
-Pokken: Deluxe Edition
-A new pokemon game for mobile
-Something we can't predict (like how no sane person would ever have predicted Hyrule Warriors)

But like most predictions mine are probably going to be wrong. I'd love a Pokemon Snap remake but sadly I don't think it will happen.

Probably. The logo and then a 8 minute explanation about what the artist was thinking when they designed the logo, what its deeper meaning is, and most of all, how we can apply the life lessons taught by it to our everyday life.
