Okay, finally following the settings granville put up.
With speedhack enabled I get black screen for ALL games

. (more specifically said Digimon World 4, Metal Slug Anthology, Dragon Quest VIII and GoW1)

I tend to leave most settings at default the only changes I make are setting up the controller, and changing the GU to SSE4, the speedhacks i've left well alone (the defaults are good enough), with the exception of the multicore hack as it claims high compatibility but isn't on by default.

I also leave the graphics as DX9, but that's because i'm trying (and failing) to get 3D working with PCSX2

EDIT: Also just tried and vibration works ingame for me using a wired 360 controller (sorry no wireless receiver so cannot test with my wireless one), tested in ZOE2.
Well, most things are left on default aswell. I tried to uncheck everything in the speedhack tab and just enabled the multicore hack, still no luck.
Also no luck with vibration

. Tried the 360 wired and the PS3 controller using DS3 tool.

But anyway, games run fine for me without the speedhack

. Frames are inconsistent at times but playable

Okay now everything is messed up -.-
GoW 1 was working fine yesterday, but today it loaded up and everything was green except Kratos.
I havent changed any settings to cause any issue.
But tried to change settings around, nothing is really working

This emulator has been in development for over 10 years. It's your fault that you didn't search for PS2 emulator on Google before you bought your PS2

Did you just pull that number out of a hat? A quick check on the PCSX2 site reveals that's nonsense info.

Yeah, had to do it fast so I just guessed. I've read it before and it was a long time so I kind of guessed here. It's apparently close to 7 years now

I have figured out the issue I had.
God of War doesnt work properly with Bios version 1.60 PAL.
It works just fine with 2.00 PAL, however I dont own the BIOS and its a german dump -.-
Game loads up in german language lol.
Any workaround for that?
edit: nevermind. language settings changed

The Dolphin emulator has also had a recent update from version 2.0 to 3.0 stable. Although they talked about more accurate emulation and slower performance due to this, I find the opposite with much better performance.

With such great emulators like DesuMe, PCSX2, Epsxe, VisualBoy, Project 64 and more, I feel we are very privileged. I actually prefer to play these emulators more than my actual console / handhelds!

After that recent PCSX2 update that makes use of multicore, my favourite game Fight Night Round 3 now plays as if it is no longer even being emulated!

My laptop is now able to play many games full speed, good stuff!

Any ideas wht VU doesnt seem to work for me? I get my reading as 0%, so i'm guessing that the VU is doing nothing.

Did you manage to fix this issue?

What game were you trying and what are your specs?

Some AMD CPU's support SSE3/SSE4a instructions.
However the GS plugins themselves do not support SSE3/SSE4a for AMD.
The SSE3 plugins do not load and I believe SSE4a for AMD differs from SSE4.1 in current generation Intel CPU's and therefore, also does not load.

I was able to play Katamari Damacy at native resolution 640x480 on my Phenom I x4 (AM2+ Agena Quad @ 2.8 GHz) using the SSE2 GS plugin but in Digital Devil Saga, walkabout gameplay after the introduction sequence was barely passable due to poor audio synchronization/timing.

I was able to play both games at near flawless emulation on my client's Core i7 (2600K Multi-threaded Quad @ 3.4 GHz) using the SSE4.1 GS plugin at 1280x1024 and several-times native texture res, but I wasn't able to fiddle with it much to see where it started to top out.

I'm about to do some comprehensive fiddling with my freshly built Phenom II x6 3.2 GHz (Thuban) system and will edit/reply with more details.
