There wasn't a vast difference in performance between the OG Xbox One and the Xbox One X when running the Dolphin emulator. I believe it was because the Dev mode throttles back the systems equally. So the X may run it slightly better but what works for it should work just as well for the other console variations.

Update for everyone: As some of you may now PCSX2 recently released an update to their popular emulator. We are working on updating the project so it pulls from the latest version rather than the old one. As far as where things are at today the project currently does two things.

    1. it successfully runs as a UWP Application on PC
    2. It is booting some games (Albeit very slowly)

There is still work to be done to get the end result of PCSX2 on Xbox One. We're currently looking at building for x86 (basically the only architecture that works worth a damn on PCSX2) then packaging as x64 (For it to run on Xbox One) This project has already come quite a long way and it's because of the talented developers that are working on this. Thanks to everyone for their patience. We will update as more information becomes available

Will you need to be a developer to access pcsx2 when you launch?

Just a small update. I have officially stepped away from the project. It's unclear to me whether or not the development will continue to progress at the rate it had been previously. The project seems to be all but vaporware at this point if I'm being honest. Which is unfortunate as I know many of you are and were looking forward to this becoming a reality. The truth of the matter is that beyond just getting PCSX2 as a UWP Application to run on PC there really hasn't been much progress in getting it to work on Xbox One and the current developers just don't seem that interested in pushing the project much further. Maybe someone will come down the line, pick up the code, and build on it. But for now we may be waiting quite a bit before this project goes much further.

Unless you get a backward-compatible ps3; compatibility is very hit or miss; backward-compatible ps3's are on the more expensive side too and also known for high failure rates due to overheating.

If you want a cheep way to play ps2 games, get a fat ps2, either the official network adapter or a SATA adapter, an IDE harddrive (if you get the official adapter) or a SATA hard drive (if you got the SATA adapter ), and install FHDB onto the harddrive by using a IDE/SATA to USB Adapter, then install OPL. OPL allows you to run pretty much any ps2 game you could ever want off of the Harddrive and you can get all of this for about $100 at most. Compatibility is basically perfect since it's authentic hardware. Just keep in mind that due to hardware limitations of the PS2, the harddrive can't be more than 2tb in size, which is way more than you would probably ever use, but is still a limitation none the less.

You wanna do it yourself? @dominater01 The source code is available and on Github. Knock yourself out bud. It's kinda impossible to complete a project when your entire team basically stops working on it altogether. This project was never about just me. A Project is only as a good as the team behind it. Regardless of whether it continues or not, the fact that it was even able to run as a UWP Application at all and was ACTUALLY BOOTING GAMES is incredible. Something that I'm guessing you're not gonna give the team due credit for? Also I never said it was cancelled. Just that I have stepped away from the project. PCSX2-UWP doesn't need me to exist. It's open source code that anyone can build on. Also I've built and released multiple projects for this "scene" including application downloaders like ProjectPegasus which has been downloaded by thousands of users all over the world,I've made homebrew games for Xbox One that others have enjoyed, among other applications which I helped get on to Xbox One in the early days. So yes I have finished not just one but multiple projects and I've released them here for free. How many applications have you successfully built and released? Go ahead, I'll wait...... :)

Also you were there in the early days with me back in 2017. So you know damn well that I laid the groundwork for this scene to even exist at all. The first emulators that were available for Xbox One I helped recompile and release and gave instructions on how others could do the same. At a time when hardly anyone knew what Dev Mode even was. I pushed hard for us to get our own "Hacking and Homebrew" forum section until we finally did, not to mention the advocacy I did outside of temp. I wasn't paid to do any of this stuff. I volunteered many sleepless nights, and countless hours of my own time working on projects for the Xbox One homebrew community because guess what? I genuinely loved doing it. I enjoy it. I'm proud of the fact that so many people were able to enjoy their Xbox One a little bit more because of the hard work that myself and others put into this community to help make it happen and to make things accessible for the average person. But if you're just going to sit on the sidelines and and spew negativity then I have no use for it. Just goes to show you can spend a lifetime doing stuff for other people, building stuff for free, and there will be those who still won't appreciate anything you've done. Very sad.

im not a programmer so i never built anything for xbox one or pc but i've released 1000s of apps, emulators, games, etc. i made a store for everyone to download the files, i helped 1000s of people with video tutorials and helped 1000s of people in the comments and i made a discord for people that i help daily, i compile retroarch for xbox one for people and send them to the retroarch dev so he can put them on libretro.com i myself compile custom builds for ppsspp with my own custom store that is being worked on by just me. and you know what? i do this cuz i want to help out the community because i enjoy seeing people get more use out of the xbox one.

i know you did something great to kick start dev mode but dont act like i didnt do anything for this community either, someone had to continue where you left off otherwise this forum would be dead with people asking if the xbox one has been hacked yet in every thread

so i'll continue helping people out while you go away again like last time

there was definitely at least 3 people i thought. but either way theres no point in moaning about it all. nobody else is doing anything great to create a xbone scene (which is really surprising tbh)
