How old is your wii? It may not be able to read burnt discs (newer models cant). DO you have a modchip installed?

No modchip, it is softmodded using Smash Stack, and I got it 1 year and 3 months ago. (I know it specifically because my waranty ends today

I got my Wii back after my brother borrowing it for 4 months, and I upgraded to 4.3U. After upgrading, WiiFlow always says to plug a USB HDD in Port 0 when it is or to hit reset which does nothing, and I downloaded channel installers for emulators and they say I'm missing some kind of IOS that it needs, 58 I think but I dunno. What should I do >w

Another disc drive? You do not need another disc drive! Just use a USB loader instead. Not only are they easier, faster, but they are also read 8X faster than discs.

OH heavens no. I was talking about a USB drive. I am thinking on a good model, but terabyte drives are tempting...

Hi:

Can someone please point me to a guide to partition an external hard drive?

Also, is there a guide to setting up a usb hard drive in ntsc or fat32 to run usb loaders?

Thanks - help would be greatly appreciated.

Pyrate02: Modmii can set up the partition for you, generate a custom guide, and guide you through the steps. Often a usb is already on fat32, and it's not hard to partition.

JUst use modmii, much easier. HBC can read fat32, so just place under apps dir. IDK about the folder name (I actually don't USB load!)

Before I go ahead with this, is it safe to install a Japanese WAD, like the internet browser, or a Japanese VC game on my U Wii console or will it brick it? If I can, how is it done?

Hey guys,

I just modded my wii and whenever I start playing my games, they freeze and make a loud continuous "Beeep" noise. I tried different IOS's to run my games but the same thing happens.

So, I gave up a little and decided to play a game off a disc and the SAME thing occurs.

What's wrong guys and how do I fix it?

EDIT: The only game I've tried so far is Brawl off my HD and playing off the disc. The game freezes during the "stage select" of the game. I used this game to mod the wii.

EDIT2: I'm on 4.3U

EDIT3: Okay, I fixed it by erasing the saves and .bin off my SD card.

How have you modded it? Saying you used Brawl only tells us what exploit you used which is completely irrelevant. We need to know, what cios did you install? or did you install darkcorp? or something older like cioscorp? do you have a usb loader? neogamma? A full syscheck could also help us to help.

Really need more info than this

Hi
smile.gif
..... i have 4GB USB flash disc and i was wondering, since Wii ISO's are more than 4GB in capacity, i was wondering if there is a way to reduce the size so game ISO so it can FIT on my 4GB flash disc?

And by reducing size i don't mean to lose any data from game like movies and so... i just want to compress it somehow to fit on 4 gigs.

Thanks

Use Wii Backup Manager, it "scrubs" down the image removing the junk data and leaving the game/data/movies etc. It also tells you the size of the scrubbed image so you know how much room is left on the storage device

Thanks for reply

.... so, is THIS it...?
and i winder... by saying "junk data" does that mean that Wii ISO REALLY have data that is not needed so the game can play normally?
blink.gif
... i mean, is that "Junk data" there only to fill up the space so that Wii ISO will hawe EXACTLY 4.699.979.776 bytes, so the disc could be read by wii?

Yes, that's the file.
And to your other question, the disc does have junk data so that the the amount of data on the cd is 4.7 or 7.2 GB so that it can be read by the wii.
