ROM Hack [WIP] Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns - True Love Edition Patch

Spots other than the wedding were Inari's 4th event (the 2nd love event) and when trying to view the first Inari special card in the bookshelf.

Hopefully that helps anyone else that encountered this issue! I'm more than happy to send along my save to anyone interested in looking into it further, just let me know.

Hmmm I wonder if I remade the patch without the Inari same gender on it would it solve the black screen. Rn I can’t see the wedding or anniversary marriage events with the patch on cuz it locks up and I have to restart the game. We may have to do what u did uninstall the patch play thru it with the original and reinstall it. I’d have to look into later I’m sick with Covid so u can’t do much rn. Hopefully remaking it fixes the issues but if not my hands are tied cuz I’m not the creator of the patch.

How did you switch over to the patched version?
I'm having the same issue with marriage and haven't figured out a way past it... I am using a CIA version of the patch on 3DS.

Person above me probably just gave the best advice, but was about 8 hours too late for me, lol. I made an account just to give advice and they beat me too it.
For those trying to build their own CIA, you've probably got the wrong copy of the game, assuming you downloaded it, you shameful pirate. You need a set that is encrypted. The Decrypted Ziperto game+DLC+Updates one that you find all over the internet will not work. Ideally, you'd dump your own game. But the alternative is to buy a copy and then find a ripped one online.
The only set I found that was compatible is on Hshop. Each piece of the set links to the other 2, so if you find one, it's easy to grab the others. I suggest renaming the files, especially if you have dyslexia.
I could not get the Hamtaro patch to work on it, I'm probably too dense. so if you want the Hamtaro patch, take Z's advice.

So I dumped my purchased cart but got the updates and DLC from HS.

How would I go about applying this patch, as they say to use the That Site's update. Should I just Delta patch the HS update file and re-apply it?

Also, I'm assuming any in-progress save should be backed up.

Sad that this is not the main game from the release, Nintendo puritanism in the name of the family has me fed up. In Tomodachi life they disguised their homophobia by blaming it on a bug. Complete rascals in my opinion. Thanks for the mod!

For anyone curious about how the pregnancy and childbirth events occur:
They're a mess.

As stated by the patch creator:

No, the children won't pop out of nowhere, the pregnancy and childbirth events are currently untouched. There are limitations to what I can accomplish with this hack and those two events are very difficult to change, unfortunately.

But what does "untouched" mean? How does the game define who's gonna get pregnant?
Here's my report of what exactly happens, playing with a male main character and marrying a man:

1. Ok, I accept the role of Trans Father, Bearer of The Dignified Child. Ford says I am the one pregnant, and the game keeps acting like so for the time the pregnancy lasts...

2. Time for me to give birth!

3. Ford's talking to... Wait, am I gonna give birth in a sofa??? And who's that you're calling mother you transphobic piece of

4. ...Oh, he was in the other room talking to Yuzuki... Who just gave birth? Yay, so Yuzuki's trans. I am trans. Everybody is trans. But what about my pregnancy???

5. Aaaand now he's thanking me for giving birth. Well ok let's just say I birthed the legs and Yuzuki the head or something

6. Yeah darling you're a FATHER. Teach Ford some respect. If he calls you a "mother" again he's gonna have a taste of my knuckles

7. Moriya confirms that Yuzuki was the one to give birth. I guess the one who birthes the head gets to be the Master of Labour

8. Yeah, we're parents, specifically fathers. Thank you for the remark, kind lady

For now, that's all I have to show. Not sure if the pregnancy and labour will ever be mentioned again in the child's events.

So that's the kinda mess you can expect if you go for a male-male family with this hack. But everything works with no softlocks or bugs, thankfully.

Well, apparently my save is softlocked. Year 4, Fall 4:

In the morning of the second and final "They grow up so fast" event, when my son were to appear all grown-up, the screen fades in, the event song plays, I am shown alongside my bed, the bottom screen responds normally, and nothing happens. Reload, reset, nothing. After 300h of gameplay, I'm satisfied, so unless asked more about it I won't be bothering trying to bypass the glitch on Citra or something. God be with ye, my dear son...

I don't even know if anyone is willing to take a look at this issue, as the patch is fairly old. But: be careful, mates.

I wasn't able to use the delta patch, or capable of understanding it, but if you think it'll work, give it a go. I honestly have 0 idea how to do things from cartridges. I don't have the tools to do that myself, so I buy games then find ripped copies to play on Citra.

Has anyone found a work around for the freezeing/black screen that may be a result of the optional patches? I tried importing my saved into a non-patched game and it seems like the patches are tied to the save file as well? Idk even when importing my save file to the cartridge game file (physical copy) it seems the True Love patch carries over as now I’m getting the rainbow + hamtaro when I boot up the cartridge game

Been trying to install this patch for hours with no luck, figured I'd post here in the hopes that someone will know what I'm doing wrong.
-Downloaded ver 1.1 update from various sources*, none of which were the correct MD5 checksum, so I couldn't use xDelta
-Attempted to build the CIA myself by using Godmode9 to decrypt each different version of the update, in case one was more useful than another. There weren't any problems doing so, so I assume they were decrypted correctly?
-Put the outputted .cia file into its own folder, and then extracted Ctrtools/Makerom/Romfs Builder/Exinjector into the same folder
-Typed in the commands listed one at a time (attempted via both powershell and CMD) without issue until reaching this step:
".\ctrtool -t romfs --romfsdir=romfs romfs.bin"
-Without fail, every time I attempted that, I got "Romfs Header is Corrupted" and couldn't do anything else.

*One from the eshop itself, one from the place Z_Tetriminos mentioned, and one from an unspecified site that shall be unnamed (as a sidenote: eshop was technically ver 1.2? It caused the same error, either way.)

Does anyone have any idea as to what I'm doing wrong. I'm dying here.

hey dude, totally understand where ur at. i just spent 2 hours going crazy and losing track of my increasingly less organized files lol. i think a page or two ago, there is a youtube video.

The video in question only shows the patch working, and the links in the comments are either dead or link to a site that sets off my antivirus, sadly.

Ludus events still called me his "woman" (like twice), which is kinda disturbing. (I installed v.5.0.1).
In sealight event after the sound of boat in water (water splash sound), the game only showed black screen. This happened when I married Ludus and in year 3.
Same thing happened with anniversary, black screen of death. Idk if this is game bug or patch bug..
(Edit: I didn't install optional patch tho.)

Edit 2: okay I got it. It may be the patch problem? When I opened the true love save file in game (without true love patch) (only update to ver 1.1 without dlc), the anniversary event ran smoothly. Idk what really happened there but it finally works lol.
