Open homebrew channel links

https://github.com/FIX94/hbc/releases/download/1.1.4-1/Homebrew.Channel.-.OHBC.wad

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I think I was clear here. Not sure why you're taking wads from a different wizard and trying to add them to your emunand.

A couple things to remember. The official hbc has issues when running off of an emunand, so don't try it. Use homebrew filter or even better the open hbc which I linked to above. The homebrew filter can be added to an emunand by modmii, and the open hbc only requires you add the ONE additional wad to your emunand.

Finally, thanks, HBC is installed. BUT it is empty, can it be because my emuNAND runs off my SD (SNEEK) and therefore the apps need to be on my HDD?

Well I took those WADs only because it was from the "BootMii and/or HBC" option, I wouldn't just try to add any WAD, the rest was unchecked.

Yes, I mentioned this previously in one of our earlier correspondence.

You can construct a version of sneek with sd access enabled (see options), but doing so you run the risk of corrupting files, so generally better to leave it as is.

Note you can update neek while leaving your emunand as is (as long as you aren't switching between neek2o and the original neek, in which case the emunand must be saved to the device root instead of the nands folder, whereas neek2o I believe supports both)

Mainly just that it runs from usb. By default sd access is disabled when running sneek from sd, but not uneek from usb. You can toggle sd access for sneek in the options but it carries some risk of corruption.

If running neek2o, I think the +di version is ideal, but only really needed if you are booting into neek and loading disc titles via HDD using the DI menu (not necessary if using a usbloader)

When selecting what version to build, modmii will describe each and some pros and cons.

Sorry, as I stated numerous times this is my first time hacking a Wii and I must have overlooked that in the heat of the discussion or it wasn't clear to me, thanks again for all the time you took.

No worries. As a father of 4 boys all under 6 years old, I generally have a lot of patience, lol, but I'll be honest troubleshooting your problems put it the test! Can't believe that it just started working, I told you it can be finicky, maybe you didn't wait long enough, or maybe some other minor detail was overlooked, or maybe the stars weren't perfectly aligned until just now, lol, either way glad you got it sorted out... My bill is coming in the mail! Lol jk

Actually the problem still isn't solved, sorry... I misunderstood you apparently again and just placed the apps folder on my HDD, but HBC still stays empty.
If you are saying HBC must access the SD, I guess I have to run UNEEK, but both UNEEK and +DI don't work again, SNEEK without DI is the only method that does. How would I find a ways around this, or enabling the risky SD access that you mentioned?

To enable sneek sd access, go to modmii's options and enable it, then build sneek again (option 1 from the modmii sneek menu). Definitely back up your sh*t before trying this.

Do you have a wii game on your USB HDD? I didn't think having any was a requirement for neek2o, but perhaps my memory is fuzzy and you need to have 1 as well. Neek2o works with wii games in their typical wbfs format saved to your usb:/wbfs folder (so usually this prerequisite, if it even is one, is met by most folks without really trying), whereas the original neek+di requires a game in a special extracted format and saved to a games folder

Edit: Ultimately, you're not going to like the answer, but the answer is for you to solve this yourself using trial and error. I can tell you that when I use modmii to build neek and an emunand it always works for me 100% of the time right out of the box. Maybe it's just my hardware is 10 years old and very compatible... many many many people have claimed to followed the directions to the letter and still get different results (that being said, even more have said it has worked for them without having to do anything special). I think it's hardware related, but it could be user error.

Edit2: while in the hbc you hit 1 (or 2?) and select USB and still nothing? You have apps saved to your USB, and it's formatted as fat32, and plugged port 0? If you checked all these then it should be working in sneek

Ok, so I rebuilt SNEEK with the SD access enabled, but HBC still stays empty :/
And yes, I have one wbfs game on my HDD which also get sdetected by GX in sysNAND, even a GC iso in games.

If I press 1 and select my USB HDD, an exception occurs and I have to restart my Wii. It is plugged into the lower port if you lay the Wii Flat (disc slot on top from front), is this the right one?

EDIT: My HDD has two partitions because on the other one there's personal stuff aswell. The first is NTFS, the second is FAT32, could that be an issue? GX correctly detects the HDD in sysNAND though as I said and is even able to detect that it's the second partition iirc, there's also an indicator that blinks when I am in HBC so I guess it gets detected aswell? Still, no apps and selecting the HDD from 1 crashes the Wii as before. I also tried again building SNEEK+DI and UNEEK (+DI) with SD access enabled in options but again none want to start at all, only the regular SNEEK variant does for me, also utilizing the latest neek2o rev96 as you mentioned.

EDIT2: Just tested selecting the HDD in HBC in sysNAND, doesn't crash my system and also shows me apps.

Yes, a significant number of homebrew Wii softwares are hardcoded to use the first USB partition. It's worth configuring your drive to just be for the Wii, or if you absolutely must, put your non-Wii partitions at the end rather than the beginning of the drive. NTFS has spotty compatibility with Wii software, so that could also be an independent problem.

I actually did that in the meantime but it did not resolve my issues. It could be however detected in HBC in SNEEK but if I ran an USB loader it could not detect the HDD (I guess because the Homebrewn runs from it already) and SD access is disabled, even when enabling it in ModMii settings. Also SNEEK+DI and UNEEK(+DI) still do not boot at all, neither with a complete fresh built emuNAND or an freshly configured one (just booted and set up).

How to edit Ocarina Codes in usb loader GX? So not just make GCT files. But edit the Ocarina List of available codes. So they can be changed on the fly instead of making a new GCT file on a PC each time.

Trying to improve the codes from Dokapon Kingdom with balancing tweaks and gameplay tweaks so every game feels fresh.

Using this guide
https://gbatemp.net/threads/ocarina-cheats-guide.468862/
and trying to convert these AR codes in Ocarina Codes that can be changed on the fly to a GCT file. NOT a GCT file itself:

So i installed EmuNAND for the first time and just followed the guide where you just do it from usb loader gx and it worked. i transferred my zelda wads over and now they will black screen when i press reset to soft reset. They work perfectly normally just reset is broken. This is a big issue for me since im learning to speedrun OoT and i need to soft reset a handful of times in the run and for randomizers its also nice. I only made emuNAND so i could have more games installed but i really only play n64 zelda games on my wii. is there anything i can do to fix the reset issue? I dont have neek either since i couldnt figure out that part so i left it alone.

Hello. I've been looking at the GC2Wiimote mod, which, to my understanding, lets you use a GC controller on games that use Wii Remote. If I'm not mistaken, this could allow me to play SMG and SMG2 without the Wiichuk which would be awesome. However, most of the "guides" I see talk about portable Wiis, which I have absolutely no interest doing. I also don't wanna replace the system menu with something else, and I wanna make sure normal remotes are usable too (because there are many games that need them). What is the most non-intrusive way to get this to work? Thanks in advance.

Post a syscheck, and we'll see just how closely it was followed ;)

https://gbatemp.net/threads/posting-a-system-check.300279/

To be as clear as possible in my explanation: I followed the instructions on this page after the Letterbomb and HBC - https://wii.guide/bootmii - with no indication that anything had gone wrong other than the lack of ability to install to boot2. I then followed this page - https://wii.guide/priiloader - at which point my SD card corrupted and I made a thread about that issue. After much engine searching for my issue I continued on to the - https://wii.guide/cios - page which I'm not sure worked as intended due to whatever error occurred. Did more learning trying to get USB's to work and finally got CFG Loader which clued me into whatever went wrong and here we are and here's the log:

I'm afraid moving on might have been the wrong thing to do, but I had no indication of errors other than the corrupted SD cards. That's alright if I can't fix it though, I can still use most things on the HBC if I permanently screwed something up.

Your cios's did not install.

Grab modmii from my signature, drag your syscheck.csv log onto modmii.exe or a shortcut to it, follow the directions, you'll be all sorted out

The instructions just had me install 12 WADs. All successfully. Thank you very much. Just to make absolutely sure, am I in the clear to call it good or do I need to repeat the cios step now?

EDIT: Everything is in working order now! Thank you very much!

Need some help with Neek/Neek2o game saves please!

I am using Neek via USBLoaderGX to launch the 3 english patched Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games from a JP EmuNAND.
The problem is when I load into the game(s), the game prompts tell me:

-"Due to a problem with the Wii's internal memory, WiiConnect24 cannot be used (109020)"
-"The amount of free Wii System Memory is Insufficient. Please create blocks from the Data Management screen"
I then get kicked back to RealNAND because I have 'Return To' enabled.

Is there a way to emulate saves for Neek? Or any other ways to solve this? Cheers :)
