TWiLight uses the DS's font format, NFTR, not the 3DS's BCFNT so it can't use those directly, I can grab the character sets from those and add all the characters they use though, thanks for letting me know about them.Actually there are a acg-front-tool 3 should have full chinese character. This software were created by acg-chinese-translate-team so it could be native. it do have the option to out put or extand or other-way to dump front files to sd-card as *.bcnft filetype .

Oh yeah, sorry forgot to mention it, when running in DS mode it still uses the same limited font as before since RAM is pretty limited, it only uses the more complete fonts when running in DSi Mode.and thank your advice. I will try a nightly version
i tried flashcard nightly first. it still show questionmark such as 狱 奏 初 绘心教室 萝莉
update: seems cia one normal now. continue checking
which one you using? standalone or retroarch? Standalone works better than retroarchthe crash happens on the nintendo switch, when i try to play style savvy it just crashes, but when i play my other games - it doesn't do it. style savvy used to work fine on the melonds emulator but now it doesn't i don't get why. i even have the same problem with mario & luigi partners in time, i am afraid to check what other games it crashes on since i got a list of them.
I am using standalone ;-; the latest update...if you want like an example of how I put the files in I can show you?which one you using? standalone or retroarch? Standalone works better than retroarch
hi Robz i followed the steps but the file .prv is missing.
- Move your .nds, .pub, and .prv files into "sd:/roms/dsiware".
It's either .pub or .prv, depending on the DSiWare.hi Robz i followed the steps but the file .prv is missing.
The only ones that boot atm, are Pop Island and Pop Island: Paperfield, and that's because they can boot in DS mode as demo versions.also can 3ds run dsiware via twilightmenu ?
I want to be able to use pictochat on 3DS with Twilightmenu from the DS Classic menu but it's greyed out. Is there a way to extract the nds file from a DSi? If so how? I can get the CIA but how do I extract the nds file from that? Also How can I change the unlaunch background images?
Maybe the wiki should be edited to include proper instructions!
Hi! So I was trying to find the required "pictochat.nds" but couldn't find it anywhere. Someone, somewhere said that one can download it using NUS Downloader - which doesn't work anymore, tho. I only was able to find the CIA versions.
However, I found a full NUS Downloader DSiWare dump right there: archive.org/details/nintendodsicompletesystemtitles.7z It does also include Pictochat and the DS Download Play DSiWare titles!
For maximum convenience (and knowing that searching the web for even the title IDs doesn't really got me anywhere), I decided to upload it to archive.org myself: archive.org/details/dsiware-pictochat-dlplay
So, you can download "pictochat.nds" (and "dlplay.nds") from here: archive.org/download/dsiware-pictochat-dlplay
Btw, sorry for not properly linking the URLs - I just created this account and new members aren't allowed to post hyperlinks ^^'
What tool(s) did you use to format the SD card?@Robz8
i have issue with dsi hiyacfw where unlaunch will not display anything apart from system files, also when i boot hiyacfw through TWLMenu which i access via the camera app i get white screens, i already formatted the sd card twice & followed the online guide but not sure why it's not working ! any idea what might be wrong ?
What tool(s) did you use to format the SD card?
Try SDFormatter.windows own tool
Try SDFormatter.

Edit:
I've just made a new PR, #1294, that adds I think everything from all of SharedFontTool's bcfnts to the DSi Mode fonts and also adds special DS Mode fonts for Chinese (Simplified) and Korean that should be much more complete, at the cost of missing characters in other scripts.
The Chinese font also uses Noto Sans CS as the primary font instead of nintendo_NTLG-DB_001 so it has the Chinese forms of characters instead of the Japanese ones.
If you've got a good list for Chinese (Traditional) that's under around 7,000 chars total I can add that too, but SharedFontTool's traditional font has like 15,000 chars which is too much for DS mode. You can use the Simplified font in DSi Mode though to get the Chinese forms of characters instead of the Japanese ones, though it might also have simplified forms instead of traditional for some, I'm not sure how much overlap there is.
(To try it you can download it from the "Checks" tab on the pull request in a few mins once it's done or it'll probably be merged within a few hours then just get the nightly)
No I'm all set hereI am using standalone ;-; the latest update...if you want like an example of how I put the files in I can show you?
Then it's not compatible. How can I run ScummVM in a Nintendo DSi with Twilight Menu ++?
Every *.nds from scummvm-1.2.1-ds.zip give me a error related with something called DLDI drivers
Yes. The button combo is the same as in DS games.@Robz8
