Guys they updated their site with info on how you can get it to play nds games! No need to get a separate card for that if you won.

Edit: They haven't released the .firm yet, but they will within the next few days

Edit 2: Would someone potentially be able use this to get ntrboot onto the r4i-sdhc once they release the firm.

I saw this news this morning, good that they are doing this, now the flashcart is more than worth it at this point with this development.

Awwww yeah! The squeaky wheel gets the oil!
Let's push for the source code now! Oh and push for them to update everyone who won, that's important too. Because there are several us (me included) who won and still haven't heard shit from them.

I wonder if the r4i team were surprised by the DS backlash.
If their normal DS mode flashcards were selling poorly, its not hard to understand how they might have thought omitting DS compat wouldn't be an issue with customers.

I guess they thought people would be cool with paying 4$ more for a cart that really does less. They really backed on that NTRBoot pushing this cart's sales.

Now if only they would get back to me :/

It took me around a week to get my tracking number, so you won't be waiting too long.
I am 80% sure they don't want to talk to me anymore due to my comments on this thread (and previous threads.) If you haven't been live following them, they had to change a lot due to community outrage. They even hinted towards my comments in the email they sent me, so I am pretty sure they are following the forums.

I'm curious about what they said and the changes they've made, would you share them?
Kind of a rough mapping of their changes.
They started by telling users to spam sites to "promote their product," then name dropped the Temp directly. It also didn't include a time frame for how long the post most remain. That was removed and changed after we said users would be banned for doing so. They not only removed the name drop, but also added a "2 day" time frame requirement. They also no longer instruct the user on what to post. As it seems posts simply saying, "Hey I will buy this cart!" are accepted as "promoting it," as opposed to spamming the forum.
The cart was announced with a vaguely worded statement that made it sound like it played DS games. When asked directly, they said it didn't. This of course caused a lot of stirring in the community, to which I am pretty sure I was the loudest out of most. Which seems to have gotten a reaction out of them, as now a method to revert it back to the original R4i-SDHC has been announced.
There were other small changes here and there that went unnoticed and were mostly just small revisions. Basically just showing as the community reacted, they were reacting to our reactions..

R4i team will release a new updater soon that can flash B9S to NDS flashcart or reversely? ?
According to their website, they will release the flasher.
Now we push for the source! This is GPL3 code and I have sent an email requesting the source code

I had sent the same email to every email provided in regards to their team and only the promotional team replied

Of course I am going to ignore that little request to keep this confidential because quite honestly they are ignoring my GPL3 request. They are using GPL3 code, I requested that code from literally everyone and the answer I got was not the code. I know this most likely doesn't bother anyone, but to those it does concern, it is worth looking at.

Our public outrage over the things they've done has already shown to have worked, so I think we can push to correct one last wrong that they've committed.

They seem to only ship once or twice a week. But I can understand that. As flashcard selling team they probably have to be very cautious about not beeing busted by Nintendo. They probably have to pay a middle man etc.
Well there's several emails I made with the team that I've only gotten 1 to 2 replies on until they basically stopped replying to me all together. Mostly in regards to getting the source code they used for their cart.

It's not surprising that they copied the code (SC did the same just a few months ago). They won't release any sources because that would make it clone manufacturers easier to clone their card.

First, lol, a clone cart worrying about clones. I know that's going to be their logic, but still funny to me.
Regardless, look what we've done already as a community. We've gotten them to remove the name drop from the site, we've gotten them to release the flasher they created, we've gotten them to change the qualifications for the posts required, and a few other things. It shows that they are actually listening/watching the community and reacting to it.
Coupled with the fact that the whole, "they could make clones" logic is complete bullshit. NTRBoot is already open-source, we already "make clones," out basically any cart out there. Them releasing the source code won't hurt their market. If anything they should have just released the flasher with the source code, instead of a new cart. Like I've previously said, anyone would buy a $14 cart over a 20$ cart, if they both did the same thing.

Tho r4i-sdhc is a very old clone compared to most other cards. I think they are older than r4ids (but probably not acekard and for sure not supercard).
It's obvious that there is not the interest in the card that they expected. They only gave away 32 cards so far although they openly advertised this giveaway.
The flasher is nice, but the card wouldn't have any chance on the market without it.
Maybe they don't even have a clean soure and made the changes required to boot b9s manually.

Regardless of their reason, it still seems they've been listening to us. Even if they push out a dirty source code, it would still be more beneficial to them than it would be harmful.
IIRC, the R4-SDHC team (now R4i-SDHC) was actually one of the very first clone R4 carts. Even though it was a DSTT clone, I still recall it being first carts trying to bank on the R4 brand.
Still my call for the source code could go one of two ways. Either they come to their senses and release the source code or I've just been shouting at wall for two weeks. Regardless of the outcome, I still say we did something and ultimately came out on top. We got them to stop encouraging spammers and we got our flasher, that's really 2 out of 3.

I think that you can say that a card is dead if the source gets released. It's just too much of a risk to release the source (regarding clones etc) and the team itself won't gain anything (that's worth the risk) from it.

I don't think you understand the source code I am asking for. I am asking for the source to the NTRBoot code that they used, which is already an open-source GPL3 code. Them releasing this source code doesn't really hurt their market, as I can already port the code to other carts. This isn't like I am requesting the source code to some close-source setup that they made. I am requesting the source they edited from an already open-source project.
They aren't going to lose anything from releasing this code, as the NTRBoot code is already free and obtainable right now.
