Shoots self in foot.

I don't need to do that, the community already does that for my head

Why? Social experiments are really pointless when they're rhetorical. Of course people were going to bitch about this. How can you expect people to not have that behavior after UnbanMii? This supposed "experiment" is just one big strawman; it's entirely self defeating and seems like a facade used to cover the real reason why you won't open source it. I've always liked your work, but c'mon dude. If you don't want to wallow in the mud then get out of it.

pls... the source code is 166 lines big, of which 106 lines are required, of which only 42 lines are the pure functionality, the rest is just the "fancy shit" like printing the error in case something goes wrong... go reverse engineer it if you don't believe me

i love this thread lol
Anyway, if this does what it says on the tin and nothing else then good job :yay3ds:

no, it'll make every new3DS have a QTM brick... :wtf: like pls... why would I release a real malware on this forum myself?!

Release source, remove download. It'll shut up all the noobs since they'll have to build it :P

Honestly @MarcusD you havent released anything to give reason not to trust you report the troll and move on. untill the staff tell you to post source, No need to.

Oh i'm a troll now? He lost all of his credibility with UnbanMii, it's normal that i don't trust a non-opened sourced homebrew from the same guy.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

again, as I said a few posts earlier, the only reason I didn't upload the source code yet (which is smaller than the damn Makefile I'm using to make it) is because I wanted to see how many people were going to bitch about it bring up the UnbanMii incident

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I did make UnbanMii 2.0 when my mind was hazy due to personal reasons, so yeah... shit happened

"personal reasons", so when you have life problems, you decide to steal users information ? mhhkay, seems legit mah boi.

Funny since you removed the build, and you need to compile it, people will just use salthax, since they don't need to download or compile anything.

According to some people I have asked, there's currently no way to remove parental controls without using SALT's recovery code generator, or calling Nintendo.

You forgot that you can run 3DSident_GUI.3dsx, enable process patchs, get parental controls info, profit. I already told you on discord too.

Oh my god the 3DS scene is so full of salt.
Yes, he fucked up before, but hi, you literally don't need to use the 3DSX.
Do not associate the homebrew with the developer; y'all use Cruel's shit still and we all know what happened there, didn't we?

That's some weird ass logic. You should definitely associate homebrew with the developer. If there is a homebrew that purposefully bricks the consoles it's run on then you should definitely associate that with the dev. (which isn't what happened with his previous homebrew, let me be clear) And you should definitely associate the dev with the next homebrew he makes too. Credibility matters. Thankfully it's easily solved by just sharing the source. You're not making money off of it anyway so you don't lose anything by making the source available (correct me if i'm wrong)

That said one mistake (which i believe is what happened with his previous homebrew) shouldn't taint a devs reputation for ever. Nexocube's posts in this thread were vague, confusing, and downright nonsense to be honest ("i trust you boi"). And only made everything confusing for everyone who didn't know all of the background info.

My english isn't perfect and yeah that was pretty confusing when i read it now, i was just saying that until he doesn't share the source code, we better not trust this homebrew (because of MarcusD past homebrew)

What's the reason not to trust him?
He literally did nothing wrong prior to this, read his blog post.
You literally just created an argument over nothing using invalid points.

Anyway back on topic, this seems cool, I'll probably use it.
Typing in "0000" is annoying anyway
...Except I have no idea how to make a makefile and stuff.
rip.

This is actually pretty cool, so thanks! You can never have too many options these days in terms of usable programs.

I still don't understand why you wouldn't release the source code in the first place after the other fiasco; that's just common sense. Unless it was your intent to "stir the pot" you knew how people were going to react by another closed sourced, auto-exit, "let me help you" program made by you. I mean this happened less than a fortnight ago. I personally don't care what you do, or what you make or whatever but your logic behind the reasoning makes no sense. While you did apologize and explain for lack of a better term "personal issues", it's hardly a reason to create textbook malware dude. Are you seriously wondering why people don't trust you? And being salty about it to boot? No one owes you their trust especially after that. Repentance can go a long way but yours seemed to be short lived. Sorry but you can be the best dev in the world and make great programs but if the community doesn't use them, it doesn't even matter.

He ùade a long, detailed blog post about what led to the fiasco actually.

People that make free stuff only care about their reputation, so I guess he made that like a "now you can trust me"
