Hacking Are any mods unsafe for online play? (Ban risks)

I just picked up a wiiu and started looking to mods it like I did the wii. But I'm just trying to find a definitive yes or no on whether there is a risk of being banned do to soft mod and cfw.

How do you play online? I've installed a back up of mario kart and can play it perfectly but if I go into multiplayer, I can get as far as selecting my player, vehicle, and wheels etc but when I go to play on line by pressing 'A' nothing happens. Do I need to edit my DNS settings or what? Bit clueless here sorry guys. any help with this will be very much appreciated

I assume you're loading it from loadiine. This is not possible, it must be installed to the home menu and played like that.

No, I've installed some back ups to an external hdd, the back ups show up on my system menu. I've so far only installed Haxchi and CBHC, nothing else. What have I done wrong? Thanks for the help TheVinAnator

Hmmmm that's weird. Sounds about right. Sure you're connected to the internet? Maybe it's with the dump? If so I don't think I can help further.

I'll check but I think I am connected to the internet. I used wiiu helper for installing the game to my SD card then used wup installer to transfer the back up to my external HDD. I used the DNS setting from the loadliine page, just can't connect mario kart multiplayer. I want to install Minecraft on another wiiu and get online with that. Thanks

Only thing I can think of is your internet.

You can only get banned for cheating in games and using gecko on miiverse.

it's load i i ne (there's no L at all).
try to disable the DNS completely. there's no new update today so you are fine. you'll know if the issue is the DNS or not.
just try, and re-add the DNS right after your test to be safe for any hypothetical future update protection.

Apologies abut the spelling mistake, id typed that put on my phone. Its not for me tbh, I went out and bought a used wiiu and modded it to see how easy it is to do. Im not too bothered about playing online myself but my daughter is and I wanted to be 100% everything was safe. Shes hooked on Minecraft so if i can get Mario kart 8 to work then I should be able to get the same results with the Minecraft.
