I think ODE devices attack drive firmware itself like X360 drive.Only problem is that without a softmod to dump your drive key you won't be able to use any ODE device.

It would be foolish for ODE group to rely on browser exploit.
Just use the update on MK8's disc and you're good to go for homebrew, plus it can't install without your knowledgeI haven't booted my Wii U in over a year, is there any way to manually download 5.1.0 or point my console to a different update server?

To spoof drive you need the drive specific key and reverse engineer drive firmware.it relies on the keys WiiKeyU already hacked WiiU but aren't releasing any of their exploits for obvious reasons he was saying softmods is what actually makes WiiKeyU dump the Drive Keys which r needed to 'backup' your games

Wii U kernel exploit is not always necessary for ODE.
Look at Xbox scene before freeboot. You can dump drive key with a PC.
And how do you know that "WiiU the security measures are much more secure"?ok Xbox isn't WiiU the security measures are much more secure and its currently not possible to dump your keys with a mac or pc

X360 OS for example looks more secured than Wii U to me. Hypervisor, memory encryption and hashing. efuses to prevent downgrading.
I can not decipher what you want to say.wiiU has 2 hashing with the espresso and ancast keys needed for the drive key also ned Vwii ancast and espresso keys to get cafe ones soon a list there here is what you need to get just the drive key
ancast keys WiiU mode and Vwii mode (2 separate keys)both have hashes
espresso WiiU mode and Vwii mode (2 separate keys) both have hashes
kernel access ppc
rest of kernel access
iosu access
need binaries
common key
userspace
espresso cores

f0f released hashes of keys which are used for signing executables afaik. These keys are not needed for ODE.
