Hello guys,

I'm going to buy a Wii U and want some opinions, here's my situation:

- I want to get a Wii U as fast as i can.
- I'm not rich but the price is not a problem for me.
- I live in Brazil and the console will be officialy released here in 2013 or even 2014. I don't want to wait because i know that the final price will be higher than importing the console.
- I usually buy my consoles at Amazon.com.

I like to buy on Amazon because they have the Imports Fee Deposit, which virtually doubles the price of any stuff, but the goods are delivered in 3-5 business days and i don't need to deal with the customs clearence. That's a big plus for me, because the final price, even with the Imports Fee Deposit, is better than buying from any importer in Brazil.

The problem is, the North American Amazon isn't selling the Wii U, as you guys know. Right now, i have the option of buying a Wii U from Amazon.uk. They offer the same delivery advantages that Amazon.com offer and the price sounds right to me.

So, here are my main concerns:

- It's gonna be a PAL console, so i'll be attached to the PAL eShop.
- NTSC games simply won't run on this Wii U (damn region lock...).

The thing is, i don't plan to buy physical copies of my games and i'm going all digital with the Wii U, just like i already do with the 3DS. I also plan to buy a second Wii U in a few months, probably a NTSC one.

I want to hear from you, is there any detail i overlooked? Is there any hassle that i'll probably have to deal for buying a PAL console?

Thanks in advance!

the pal consoles and games are more expensive and games tend to come out over there later. maybe after the wii u is out you can find it on a different american site.

The thing is does Amazon.co.uk allow shipping of consoles overseas? Cos afaik they seem to be pretty strict on that. I would love it if this were possible. :)

I don't know about Australia, but they ship consoles to Brazil.

You might want to look up how buying the games on the Wii U works (mainly the currency and availability near you ie. will you have to buy european codes for the currency, will you be able to buy those codes, can you use a (non-european) credit card, etc.).
